The Wildhearts

Morning all

On 18 May 2008 I will be taking part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run to raise funds for Refuge. This will be my first 10k race and I'm training really hard. I know that every ache, pain and blister will be worth it if I can raise my £500 target.

I am posting this topic to ask any one who would be kind enough to sponsor me to go to www.justgiving.com/laurachandler

Sponsoring me will make a real difference to the lives of women and children in crisis.

All funds will be used to support Refuge's work with women and children experiencing and escaping physical and mental domestic violence.

P.S. It's worth having a look at the web page to see a picture of me looking well rough after a long run!! Or as a friend commented, "It doesn't look like you, you look young" which as you can imagine absolutely made my day!!

Following advice from my post about what Wildhearts albums to buy in "Wildhearts Chat", I can honestly say that Earth V's is one of the best albums to run to EVER. Definetly keeps me feet moving for that last mile!!

Thanks for your really good suggestions guys. I'm going to investigate both the facebook idea and the local paper. Reporting might be a strange, new concept to the "St Helens Star". I wonder if they could find room to fit me in between the adverts and "this week in court" !!
