the chance to help out a great band...

i dunno if anyone here's heard of Howards Alias, but they're a brilliantly original ska/rock/proggy band from the south of england (whose sound is of a similar ballpark to the RX bandits, for a frame of reference...), or at least they were, as they've now split up.

however, they've got their final album "[ep.i.phan.ic]" fully recorded, and are hoping to release it somehow.

a few of their songs, and the details about the split and album release are on their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/howardsalias), but the gist of the matter is this:

they want 120 people to pre-order the album for £10, so as to enable them to manufacture that amount of copies. anyone doing so will have their name put in the liner notes.

i've put my name down for two copies, but if anyone else wants to help make this album see the light of day, drop an email to howards_alias@yahoo.co.uk from an address you use regularly, with the title "album pre-order." if their last three albums are anything to go by, it'll be well worth it!

WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

awesome. this is the second time they've broken up and it seems like they're giving up now (whereas the last time, they hinted they'd be back when they'd sorted a few things out), so it'll be nice if this album can get released to give them a nice send-off.

by the way, definitely check out their previous albums if you can find them. "the chameleon script" is out of print, but "the answer is never" is easily one of my favourite albums, and "beat, heart, beat" isn't far behind, and those are both still in print.
