Anyone a fan? Anyone seen them live?

I've just discovered them and they're brilliant. Or so says me at least.

Hell yeah! They're great. Was introduced to them by Ila on the short lived Radio Listee project, for which I am eternally grateful.

Haven't managed to catch them live yet, but hopefully there'll be some dates when No, Virginia comes out. :D

Another huge fan here, I saw them live on their last UK tour which sadly was nearly three years ago and it was fucking brilliant, they had performers outside the venue (Carling academy in Brum), entertainment before the and during the sets, one of the supports acts was a burlesque troop, if you get the chance check out their two live dvds there's no actual way of describing what you'd see.

Great band. Amanda has just made a solo record with Ben Folds producing, as well. That sounds like a bit of a must-buy to me.

There was something about 'Yes, Virginia' that I really couldn't get into at first, after listening to the first album quite a lot.

I then had a spell of really liking it but haven't listened to it for about a year now.

I don't know why that is tbh.

Looking forward to new material though (news to me as I'd forgotten all about them)

Managed to get my hands on an advanced copy of the semi-new album, to say this album is made up of bsides, non album tracks and stuff that never made the other two albums, it still stands as probably one of the strongest albums of the year and I'm not just saying it cuz I'm a big fan but you'll be jumping around your house to this album as though it was a full on guitar orientated band as opposed to the drums and piano band they are, its fooking grand and their version of Pretty Pink is phenomenal which reminds me.................

Lucky boy! I am really looking forward to hearing the studio version of Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner as I loved the version on the Roundhouse DVD but never got hold of the single it was on.

IN a word its..........mental.

I got that, two headed boy and pretty in pink about this time last year maybe a bit later but they still sound fresh, if you listen to the lyrics of Page Turner there's something very wrong if you find yourself not trying to stopo yourself giggeling at the delivery of some some of the lines

"my god why won't this damn thing stop bleeding" is one in particular

Useless bit of info, Amanda Palmer shares my birthday.

My fav line is "Devoted to the fine art of perfecting absolutely everything inconsequential". I think that could become my new mantra ;)

Yeah Two Headed Boy is also an excellent song. Weird ass lyrics though! A friend played me the original - not so different.

Belated Happy Birthday (30th April right?). Amanda is the same age as me. Not very interesting as lots of people are!
