"AC/DC Set To Release New Album This Year
The waiting is almost over! AC/DC fans can expect the band's next album of new material sometime later this year. The band are currently recording in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien and long time audio engineer Mike Fraser. This will be the band's first collection of new material since the release of Stiff Upper Lip in 2000."

From www.acdc.com

I truly hope the BJs vocals are still up to it. No doubt technology can help with the recordings, but it's live where it matters......shit, I miss Bon Scott!!

Yeah, yeah....I know. I remember being told in the pub on the night he passed. It's just the timing I suppose - I've been watching the "Plug Me In" DVD 1 all through the weekend. He wasn't the greatest with regards to crowd interaction, but he certainly had stage presence. Although BIB remains a true classic rock album, I never thought that the band were the same again.

Regardless, I'll be forking out for the new album.

Haven't we heard this every year for several years now? And the same with G'N'R...

Well his voice certainly isn't what is used to be - even comparing the bands last album to the first two with Brian Johnson, but it's only to be expected really as he's no spring chicken. I don't think he can still hit the high notes, and when I saw their last show in Hammersmith he forgot the words during the first song. I'm just hoping the forthcoming album has some top quality songs and their classic early raw stripped down sound.

It's been two years since this album was first mentioned, and at that time it was supposed to be a double album too. So glad it's finally seeing the light of day. Now if only GNR could release Chinese Democracy....

Don't know if anyone else gets spammed by Columbia Rekkids, but this plopped into my junkmail folder the other day.

Anyone interested?

It's this Friday though (15th August), so you'll have to be quick.

I do and I saw that but as I'll be in the middle of nowhere in Scotland on Saturday lunchtime I can't also be in London on Friday midnight. Not without a helicopter. Boo to lack of helicopter :(

Wish I could be at that shoot, but I've got a root canal scheduled for Friday, so it'll be a memorable day either way...

As for Brian Johnsons' vox, there have been several recent recordings of him and I thought he sounded fantastic on those. There are the ones he recorded with the Classic Rock Cares troupe (which you'll find at http://www.totallybakedmovie.com/) and a guest vocal on a cover of Midnight Hour by the Greg Billings band (http://www.bbgames.us/Midnight%20Hour.mp3). I'd love to hear him do some more soul standards.
