Yeah, I read that. Should still be seeing her in Bristol next week. Unlike The Hold Steady, who just cancelled their entire UK tour with no explanation as yet. That was this coming Saturday - I so rarely get a Saturday gig. I bet it's on a Monday night when/if they reschedule it. Bah.

“there’s no such thing as accidents...”

Can't wait for the Custard Factory on Friday! There's something about a seminar too but couldn't find any details about it (?)

Guitarist hospitalised with pancreatis, which I imagine is not fun... dates are being rescheduled...

kinda relevant here i guess, but the dresden dolls have, at least to some extent, split up... i was aware they were off doing their own things atm, but apparently they won't be reuniting for a while, if at all...

Amanda posted a reply to this on the Dolls forum

"the dresden dolls aren't broken up. we're just expanding the empire."

Bands do this all the time - just look at The Wildhearts.

btw, I have tickets for the seminar! OMG!

ah, that's good news then! i'd never really listened to their stuff before (i only knew of that video as it was linked from the news section of a music website i go on), but i checked out some of their videos last night, and i'm really liking "backstabber" "shores of california" and "night reconnaissance." even found "no virginia" for six quid today!

To anyone who's going to see her on the rest of the tour - you're in for a treat.

And get their early cos her support, Jason Webley, is great. Very funny.

Did he do the drinking song last night? It was hilarious at Birmingham! 800 people trying to spin around whilst staring at the ceiling. Mr Des(mond) O' Connor was good fun too.

Ahh the Custard Factory...we had a brilliant day despite the sub-artic temperature both outside and INSIDE the venue! The seminar Amanda gave earlier in the day was really interesting and being sat 6 feet away while she played a stripped down version of Astronaut on a a wobbly keyboard was amazing!

The gig itself was an experience I will never forget. A special mention should go to the Danger Ensemble - it was refreshing to go and see a "show" rather than just another gig. Long live the Punk Rock Cabaret!

Mrs Sarc and I met her after the show and had a good chat with her about random stuff like should a seven year old boy be allowed to listen to her album (She said yes then realised we said seven and then changed her mind and even wrote a quick letter there and then to Mrs Sarcs son telling him to listen to his mother, he didnt), the radiohead incident at the ICA (apparently the hightlight of that nights show for her) and random illnesses, it's a cliche to say this cuz I know everyone says it about people they meet who are in bands but she really did make an effort to talk to you and not just say one word and sign something, genuinley one of the sweetest people I've ever met.

On a silly note, the picture Mrs Sarc took of Palmer and I was put as my profile pic on facebook and in the picture she's holding my hand and has her head on my shoulder and a friend of mine I've not seen for ages mistook Palmer for Mrs Sarc.
