Bargains everywhere...

So there are plenty of CD twin packs going about the place, most popularly a fusion of two of the arguable best albums from that band, you must have seen these, those of you who still go to record shops, and most of them are perhaps Britney Spears, The Clash, Queen, very big sort'a bands. However, recently I have picked up some amazing ones, between £3 and £7, I mean seriously amazing albums from artists such as Tom McRae, Grandaddy, The Datsuns, SFA, Lou Reed etc

However I couldn't believe my eyes today when I spotted THE REAL THING twinned with ANGEL DUST for the best part of a fiver in ASDA.

I know it isn't the same as owning the real thing (literally) but I couldn't believe it, seeing as I consider them to be two of the most important albums ever writen, you may wish to argue...

Anyone seen any better examples?

I picked up the Clash double CD set in Tesco's a few months back for £3.00 8)

I also saw the Manics - Generation Terrorists / Gold Against The Soul at the same time for the same price, but have already owned both albums for a very long time, still cool to see them in Tesco's though.

On the subject of bargains, these are...

in the post today, i got a jimmy eat world double pack thing - it's the hard(ish)-to-find "singles" compilation from 2000, bundled with a split EP they did with an aussie band called Jebediah. top notch stuff actually, even the jebediah stuff (even if the guy's voice is a bit annoying). only about 6quid from amazon.

i've seen a lot of these double packs from bands on Vagrant records (senses fail, the bled, saves the day, alexisonfire). i think i saw one by Brand New, and there was one of billy talent's two studio albums in zavvi in birmingham today...

i saw that faith no more one though - it sucks that they've just got a generic set of liner notes and put it all in one case, rather than just including both albums in separate cases in a card sleeve like a lot of these doublepacks seem to do.

I'll have to have a look for that one. I was introduced to Jebediah a couple of years ago by an ex of mine who was from Kangarooland. I thought they were pretty good, although I agree that his voice can get a bit annoying after a while.
