So its finally here but does anybody care anymore? Plus isnt the new songs opening riff earily reminisant of The Darkness I belive in a thing called love.....

I remember readin that Axl will av to shift something like 30 million records for this to break even which is a sad state of affairs for one of rocks legendary front men.

Oh, an the cover 'art' falls flat too. I want this album to be good, I really do so ill reserve judgement till I have the album next month (hopefully) lol

We shall just have to wait and see. I'm not getting my hopes up though. I'd like to be pleasantly surprised but we shall see.

Anyway, I see your weird intro to 'Chinese Democracy' and I raise you the intro to Ladytron by Roxy Music.

that riff's got a really weird industrial-metal guitar sound...

i actually quite like this, his voice has changed a lot, but i actually prefer it now, compared to that horribly squeally shite he used to do in the 80s/90s. probably won't buy this, but still, better than expected.
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

The title track sounds about 5 years out of date.
and just to clear up any confusion, that is NOT Guns n Roses, it's an Axl solo record.

+1, its been too long now. Everyone who cared about GnR 10 years ago probably doesn't give a flying fcuk anymore. Axl and his cabaret band can poke it.

You could well do Sarcy boy - they have even played Chinese Democracy on the radio this morning just to prove the launch is creeping closer!

I'm amused by all those who are slagging the band off, while I'm far from being Axl's biggest fan and havent been that way since I was 13 back in '93 (an album called Earth Vs had something to do with that), when I saw them at the Leeds festival in 2002 they blew everyone away and I even heard a few people say that they where wrong about the new line up, yeah okay it's not Duff, Matt, Gilby or Slash playing they could still cut it.

Agreed - surely it's been long enough for people to judge the "new" GNR on their own merits?

Blew everyone away at Leeds?? It was nothing more than Karaoke and Axl spent most of the set running off stage to go into his curtained-off little ego sanctuary.
If 'I can't believe it's not G'n'R' blew everyone off stage then you clearly never saw The Prodigy that were on before the pantomime of Axl.

I did actually and they where very good I thought, I only remember Axl leaving the stage once and that was for Buckettop or whatever he was called to do some godawful screechy stuff with his guitar but was forgiven by all around me when it turned out he was doing that to take attention away form the the fact that a grand piano was being wheeled out so that November Rain could take place.
