'The Wildhearts': good band name?

I love it, personally, sums up the visceral emotional appeal of Ginger's music and the band's behaviour in a lot of ways. I can claim this from a genuine lack of bias: the first time I heard of them was in a little piece in Loaded about Phuq when they were riding chart success and mainstream critical appeal for about 4 minutes back in 1995.
And I immediately thought: what a great name! Before I'd even heard them or fallen in love with the music.

I've thought from the off, that it was a shit name. Too cheesy for me. Funny thing is though I couldn't imagine them with any other name. How about SG4?
I actually mentioned this to Ginger once, and he replied with 'all band names are shit'.
Not as shit as The Wildhearts though Ging'.

There are some great names in amongst that lot.
You had me laughing more than once, with The Pete Vuckovic Fantasy, You Broke My Heart, But You Missed My Liver and What No Arena being top of the list.
You have a great imgination. Or you were drunk. Or on drugs. Or both. Maybes all three.
Whatever. Top notch anyway.

The only way to reallly judge a band's name is to when you first heard the name.
I must admit even long before 'earth vs' came I simply thought it was another sleaze cock rock band name (not that at the time that was a bad thing, but just not inspirational!). Then I heard 'Nothing ever changes' on Raw Power (or the late night rock ITV show) and the name didn't really matter any more. It's not a bad name though it does suit their style of music.

I think they have a bloody brilliant cool name. Looks great on t shirts etc. At least you can chant the name at a gig. You can't do that with all these bands with crap names like Bullet For My Valentine, My Chemical Romance and what have you.

I like it, but for some reason it's far better as " The WIldhearts" than "The Wild Hearts"

Most band names are rubbish. This one fits perfectly.

I never thought much of it myself. It would have fit a country band better.

One of the best and most appropriate band names ever (at least since Led Zeppelin). Immediately grabbed my attention and had me seeking out DBHJW - never looked back.
