thanks to the parade of bastards that is FUCKING FOOTBALL FANS, i was delayed getting to the train and thus missed broadway calls. and having bought their cd at the gig, it turns out i missed out on a KICKASS band.

the audition were alright but nothing special.

but the trio... holy fuck, that's the best set i've seen them play yet, and this is the fourth time i've seen them! they played "jaked on green beers" which of course made my fucking night! setlist was something like this (although i've probably got the order very wrong, aside from the first song and the encore):

Calling All Skeletons
Mr. Chainsaw (FUCKING YES!)
Help Me
Private Eye
We've Had Enough
In Vein
I Lied My Face Off
Emma
I Found Away
All on Black
Jaked on Green Beers
Stupid Kid
Sadie
Goodbye Forever
If We Never Go Inside
I Was a Prayer
Maybe I'll Catch Fire
This Could Be Love

ENCORE (just matt on guitar and vocals with derek filming it all, as apparently danny was suffering from the effects of some dodgy indian food, which explained why he looked a bit pissed off for a lot of the gig (still played and sang perfectly, mind)):

Blue In the Face
Sorry About That

Pretty much the best set I've seen them play yet, both in terms of performance and setlist! The merch (which they'd sold out of all in XXL, hence no shirts for this fat shit ) was two or three colour variants of a large offset heart-skull print (really nice looking actually), and one with a design not a world away from Ginger's "Valor Del Corazon" artwork actually, but with a heart-skull. there was also a hoody with the logo on the back and "send help" on the front. shirts were 15quid and hoodies were 30. strangely they didn't have any CDs on sale though...

All in all, FUCKING GOOD NIGHT!!!

Fuck My Life, Mr Chainsaw AND Jaked on Green Beers...I wonder if they switch it up from night to night or whether that's it for the whole tour...very little off Crimson there though. :?

Now I'm REALLY looking forward to ditching my girlfriend on valentine's to see these guys with my best mate! Thanks a lot, sounds like you had a wicked time

no probs mate, yeah i had an amazing time! also, i have it on good authority (from two mates, one who saw the gig in norwich, and the other who's an obsessive fan and has been to about every UK date they've ever done), that they've been playing jaked and mr chainsaw a lot this tour, so i wouldn't be surprised if you get the same awesome combo!

that is an awesome song. i definitely think their next single should be one sung by dan, as every previous one was been a matt song (besides mercy me where they shared vocals). maybe "in vein" or "do you wanna know?"?

but yeah, another innocent girl stands out as one of danny's best songs.

To Be Honest, i much prefer Matt's voice to Dan's, although Crawl is an amazing song.
As far as next singles go, i think In Vein would be a great choice, or maybe even Burned is the house.

Bought the re-issue of Goddamnit today - i'd forgotten how good that album was!

I'll be at the Manchester gig on Wednesday and have been buzzing with exitement for months :D

First time seeing them aulthough I had a ticket for the last Manc show but our car broke down and I had to sit on the side of the motorway whilst the gig was on. Grrrrrrrr...

That is an awesome setlist and Jaked On Green Beers is my fav Trio song so hearing that will make my nite. But no Cringe or Cop OR Radio :( mmmmmmm... Im shure screaming the words to We've Had Enough will make up for it

Next single (if one is nessesary) should deff be Do You Wanna Know? but Ive always imagined Lost + Rendered having an amazing video

So exited now!

"Shakin like a dog..."

i wouldn't worry about missing "radio," this is the first i've seen them NOT play it, and i've heard they pretty much ALWAYS play it. to be fair though, they seem to save it for the encore most of the time, as i think they would have last night, until danny had to sit out the encore.

Well they were indeed awesome in Manchester :D

We got a similar set to Birmingham apart from the additions of Ruin It (oh fuck yes! - The first time theyve ever played it live acording to Dan who was corrected by Matt who said it was the first time theyed played the electric version live) AND during the sing along heaven that was Sorry Bout That, Dan and Derek timidly took up their instruments after some stern eye contact and head gestures from Matt to the side of the stage without him missing a note for a rousing encore of RADIO :D Yay!

Your rite about Dan seeming pissed off he ended EVERY song with the same almost sarcastic monotonal "Thanks." that really made it seem he did not want to be there and it genuinely seemed that Matt didnt know if Dan was going to come back out for Radio even whilst he was half way through the acoustic set.

We stuck arround afterwards and met Derek and Dan who looked even more pissed off up close despite him assuring us he "felt great." in a very unconvincing tone. We couldnt wait any longer for Matt cos I couldnt feel my toes :( It was Fucking cold.

All in all a fantasic gig with so many classic crowd sing along moments that are still ringing in my ears. Dont know what was goin on with Dan but despite his misribleness (that cant be spelt rite lol) he played and sang like a god. Top nite all round :D

Btw Grimbo the shirt with the heart skull and tears is almost an alarming copy of my Valor one  Can someone say copyrite infringement

That was incredible.

No Jaked on green beers, but we did get Warbrain, Hating Every Minute (Dan said it was either 'for the ladies' or 'for me' not sure which) and Donner Party.

They finished on Radio, and the rest of the band came out for most of Blue in the Face...Sorry About That was dedicated to everyone who'd forgotten it was valentines day.

Matt is probably the new scariest guy in rock: some guy threw a bottle onstage, so matt walked right up to the edge of it, stared the guy right in the face, pointed at him, then squeezed his own throat...it was pretty intimidating but looked cool as all hell...Glad i wasn't the bottle thrower!

Good gig.
