Just noticed Tyla is goin to be playing in Belfast at the end of april. I used to really like the The Dogs D'amour stuff in the early 90s but never got a chance to see them live. I know this isn't gonna be the proper Dogs but still reckon I might go along to check them out. Has anyone on here seen Tyla in recent times and would know what to expect?

Yeah i've seen Tyla a couple of times , his acoustic gigs are good. He generally plays all the classic dogs stuff , aswell as a few solo stuff. Hes just released two new cds that are really good so he might play some new stuff aswell.
Hes playing by me at the end of may, looking forward to seeing him again.

They solo shows tend to depend what mood he's in. I've seen a couple of them where he's played a load of Dogs songs, taking requests as well as playing whatever he's planned to do. I've also seen a couple where he's mainly played solo stuff, with just a few Dogs songs chucked in to keep everyone's attention from wandering. And then of course there's the shows he sometimes does with Spike, which usually involve both of them getting pissed and Spike falling off his stool at some point during the set....

that line up is well out of date.
your best bet is to go to their myspace page and try and get a clue from there. rich from this board and the mighty loyalties etc was in tylas band a t one point.
definately worth seeing tyla in any form though - the man is afucking legend and one of the best frontmen in rock ever imho.

weird, I was just gonna post about this.
I believe all the dates in Ireland etc are acoustic and solo. We discussed me sitting in and playing electric with him but I think that it'll most likely just be Tyla alone until... June 6th and onwards when we are working on some full band gigs.
I have to say, the new songs/recordings are the best stuff that the man has done in years and years. Check out Real Magique on his Myspace for example.
