One of our major league WH supporters has died. Wells was a brilliant journalist, director of the Caffeine Bomb video and a very funny bloke. RIP mate.

This is very sad news, he was a brilliantly funny and intelligent writer, I used to love reading his stuff in the NME. He made that paper and it wasn't the same without him.
Am enjoying reading back through some of his classic stuff online, and also the sad but very touching articles he wrote about his experience in hospital.
A true talent, who was an inspiration for the better, and yet not ever one to hold back when something irked him. RiP Lovely angry fuzzy man.

He was the best reason to read the NME.

Swells. Writers don't get much more passionate. Despite being an NME subscriber for nigh on 20 years, you can count on one hand the number of journalists whose opinion mattered. I'm fairly sure it was he who gave Massive Noise Injection a maximum 10 out of 10 and therefore introduced me to Jase Edwards! And he loved the Manics - which was good enough for me.
