No, it was moved to Club Academy (which I didn't even know existed until last night!)

Because of poor ticket sales?

I'd guess so - it certainly wasn't rammed. Mind you, it didn't seem to have been advertised too well - no posters about or anything.

Saw the London show - had also been downgraded from Astoria to Meanfiddler. And was still only 2/3 full.

Show was Ok. The new songs are really pretty poor and were shown to be by the Janes songs.

Nuno was the star of the show if you ask me. I'd forgotten just how good a guitarist he is.

I was surprised when i saw they are playing Newcastle Academy. Can't see there being that much interest, surely it will get moved upstairs.

There's always someone you could ask...
That reviewer wrote:As a footnote if you were watching the audience as well as the band you would have noticed Ginger from The Wildhearts at the stage right bar. He watched the whole gig with interest and I think it’s safe to say that like everyone else he was mightily impressed

Great review for SP and well spotted to see Ginger, Jase Edwards was there too.

I loved this bit about the support band:
"At times I was reminded of acoustic moments by bands like Rush, Alice In Chains, Crowded House, America and Yngwie Malmsteen. I know that sounds like a rather all encompassing list but I must be honest and say they had a little bit of something for everyone"

Bollox to that, sounded like 2 geordie blokes on acoustic guitars to me.

Finally got the CD....mix up at Amazon...ho-hum. At first listen I'm cautiously loving it, but something deep inside is telling me that I shouldn't. Despite his destructive ego, I have loved pretty much everything that Farrell has done so far. Porno For Pyros was great and of course Jane's Addiction is legendary......."Strays" is a magnificent album, as are those classic '80s masterpieces. I really hope that Nuno's departure has nothing to do with Farrell

Either way, Perry IS Satellite Party.

There's a few tracks from this album that could easily fitted on Strays and not been out of place I reckon.

Yep...nice one. Speaking of nice ones, I have to say that backing vocalist Stacey "Fergie" Ferguson is one serious honey!! Man, I need to stop spending so much time in South East Asia

That pretty much sums up the problem I have with him. If he wasn't such a musical genius, I'd have no time for him at all (unlike Axl Rose). In a personal way, I resent him for the destruction of Jane's....it was not as if he were surrounded by a bunch of incompetents. I also hated his opening line when I saw Jane's in SF. After the band had been ad libing on stage for what seemed an eternity, on he walses, stops everything and questions "you weren't waiting for me were you?" It was likely choreographed, but it made the Glaswegan hairs on the back of my neck stand up. After the set began proper, he was immediatley exhonerated of all "misconduct"
