Ted Maul are without doubt THE best extreme metal band to come from England in years.Imagine the most brutal death metal with samples and drum and bass elements.
For Gods sake, get the album and go and see them live!
This isn't a band following the latest trend, everything is on their terms, even down to forming their own record label to release the album on as they couldn't find a deal that suited them.I believe that they were offerd a lot of deals!
When you see them live it all makes sense as they are as unhinged on stage as on record. Some member of the band WILL get seriously hurt during a gig.
I fucking LOVE this band and cannot say enough good things about them, really nice bunch of lads too.
Check 'em here www.myspace.com/tedmaul666 and here http://www.tedmaul.com/07/newsite07.html

you convinced me to pause FNM's "angel dust" right in the middle of "everything's ruined" for this... it'd better be good...

if anyone's into post-rock, epic rock, soundscapes, ambient metal, or any combination of those (or just open minded to music in general), check out the pax cecilia, they're giving away free copies of their album, you just need to contact them via the email address on their site, and they'll send it to you free. it's got some amazing artwork and the music is breathtaking. i emailed them a few months ago, and got the album today (thanks, royal mail!), but it was well worth the wait. they say that, as an alternative to paying for the music, they'd like the listener to share it with as many people as possible, hence this post from me. anyway, go to http://www.paxcecilia.com to check it out.

i figured this was relevent as i'm listening to the album now. i'm fucking impressed, all told.

Ooh, that's a mighty fine selection, DangerousBeans. :)

(Nice to see that someone other than me appreciates Riot City Blues, too!)

Somewhere in Time is up there aswell for me. DeJa Vu is an underated classic.

I'm really looking forward to seeing them next year on the Somewhere Back In Time tour , hopefully they'll play Wasted Years , Heaven Can Wait etc.

Cheers :D
I like to vary my music a lot.

Riot City Blues is one of my favourite albums over the last couple of years. Not a bad track on it..some right cheesy lyrics..but all the songs are excellent.

Certainly a lot easier to listen to than XTRMNTR and Evil Heat..they're Primal Screams Endless Nameless moments.

tis indeed a mighty fine album, but that's the worst song on it by a country mile (i've always wondered, is a country mile different to a normal mile? anyway...). sea of madness, caught somewhere in time, and wasted years are where 'tis at!

got "SYL" by strapping young lad, and "alchemy index - fire and water" by thrice today, listening to the latter atm, and it's fucking EPIC, and SYL will be getting a blast in a bit too!

Aye.. I sometimes love XTRMNTR and Evil Heat, but I need to be in the right mood. Can't wait to see them live again.. I love that they play tracks from most albums. (Though still wish they'd play something off the self-titled one. :/)
