i usually go for stuff like Opeth, Between The Buried and Me, SikTh etc. not traditionally what you'd call "prog" but i can't think of any more fitting term. ambient metal like *shels, Devil Sold His Soul, Isis, Bossk, etc. are good too. i'm open to most stuff really.

Not at all I used to be in the Beavers when i was about 6, so I would only be mocking myself, besides don't y'think that the scouts/cubs/beavers and fastfood rockers owe Wesley Willis a considerable amount of moolah in royalties/

The first concert I ever went to was Rush at the Chicago Ampitheatre in 79 or 80. It was the Permanent Waves tour. Thats the place where UFO recorded much of the live Strangers in the night album. I also took LSD for the first time. In many ways that show will never be topped. They opened with side one of 2112 and someone light off a green smoke bomb in the balcony above us. The combination of smoke, strobes and lasers was almost too much for my young mind to handle. After the show I bought a bootleg t-shirt from a dude in a wheelchair who didnt have any legs and only one arm. Those are my memories from that show. I saw them 2 more times on the next tour and then sold all my metal albums and got a mohawk. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Moving Pictures, what an album. Absolutely love Limelight.

Living on a lighted stage
approaches the unreal
for those who think and feel
in touch with some reality
beyond the guilded cage.
Cast in this unlikely role
and ill-equipped to act,
with insufficient tact,
one must put up barriers
to keep oneself intact.
[chorus]
Living in the limelight
the universal dream
for those who wish to seem.
Those who wish to be,
must put aside the alienation,
get on with the fascination,
the real relation,
the underlying theme.
Living in a fisheye lens,
caught in the camera eye,
I have no heart to lie.
I can't pretend a stranger is
a long awaited friend.
All the world's indeed a stage
and we are merely players,
performers and portrayers,
each another's audience
outside the guilded cage.

Can't not mention: A Farewell To Kings, Signals, Permenant Waves, Grace Under Pressure.... amazing albums that I haven't listened to in FAR too long.
