I think that'll be the British sense of humour.

I lived in Manchester (the English one) for four years and had a knife held to me twice in that time. I'm sure New York's a walk in the park compared to that. It's still number one on my holiday list if I can ever afford it...

Only a statement of fact. I love Manchester, I loved living there and my brother has lived there over half of his life.

These are a few places I have stayed in NYC http://www.hotelalexandernyc.com/ the Alexander is a little out of the way, but in a quieter and safer feeling part of town. The rstrooms are shared but very clean. The rooms are small, but they are clean too, I think it cost my wife and I $180. The other http://www.gershwinhotel.com/english/site1.html is a really cool place, and the front of it looks just like the picture on the website. I think it's around $200 a night, and right in town, actually it's right next to the Musem of Sex! I love the decor of thhis hotel, and it is clean too.

It'll be very cheap for the Brits right now because of the dollar deflating. We're cheaper than the Canadian dollar which is very unusual (assuming that's ever happened before. You might check into that.

Stayed in http://www.heraldsquarehotel.com/ a few times. Nothing exciting but clean and cheap. Funky music on the website too!

Hey this sounds rather cool, I'm due in New York in April and will try and get to the 17th show, however I've to pursuade Mrs Pacman, could be a problem. We're already watching Bon Jovi in Las Vegas, as they happen to be playing the same time as our trip, can't really miss that opportunity, even though have seen them in the past and been very disappointed. I think I'll start leaving hints around the house or maybe just tell her I've found a neat bar to have a meal that night and what a coincidence!!!

If I was a guessing man, I'd say 4 weeks from 3rd to 24th April, because those are the weeks that Scott's listed on his Myspace page...

Roasted if it's summer - we went over last August and I've never seen so many fights in bars and people screaming at each other in the street, in the subway, etc. It wasn't really that scary to us, they just seemed to spark off easily, mainly because of the heat. We ended up creating local lingo bingo cards - got to tick off phrases such as 'your mamma!', 'what you looking at?' and 'you out of your mind!' (pronounced 'myoind', naturally).

Damn! I can't go in April... the missus and I have a few bills to pay, and they'll be gone by June, but I can't justify any big spending until they're gone.... I was hoping to maybe go on Independence Day weekend.
