I'm veering towards "The One Who Wouldn't Change You" being my favourite track, if only for the line

"You reach for the stars while I sit on my arse"

Best debut album i've heard for a long time. But then I suppose Chris isn't a fresh faced kid straight outta Leeds!

Actually prefer the acoustic Tunnel to the album version - probably cos it was still in my head a month after the Ginger Manchester gig when I first heard it!

Roll on the 27th Sept in Leeds. Babysitters sorted! Do we need tickets, or is it a turn up and pay job?

The Brudenell is usually a turn up and pay on the door affair.
Occasionally nights sell out but if I hear that it's going to I'll give you a shout. The last sold out gig I went to there i still managed to get tickets on the door somehow, not sure how that worked but maybe they were returns.

I cannot tell you how pleased I am there are soon going to be a whole load more nutters down the front to jump around with :D

From an email...
EUREKA MACHINES ‘CRIB’ EXPOSED

In a very special programme commissioned by shady internet music channel ASH TV which is by sheer coincidence a bit like the ‘Cribs’ show on some music television network or other, EUREKA MACHINES very own Chris Catalyst has been invited to show every single one of you round his own luxury pad.

Get a feel for the rock & roll goings on, meet the band on Chris’ doorstep, see all the desperate hangers-on, see what the band do in their spare time, marvel at Chris’ awesome ‘ride’, have strange mixed-up feelings about what goes on in the bathroom, acknowledge the true genius of Icky from the Bengal Brasserie…… all here:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mYHwLlnsJ-o

ENJOY! – thanks very very much to the guys at Ash TV for making this. Watch out for their promo vid to ‘Everyone Loves You’ – being put together at the moment. More news on that to follow…..

If by "cringey" you mean "unmitigated genius", then yes.

That was very funny. I like Steve's entrance and I'm amazed they managed to keep a straight face during the football bit.
The only thing I can think of to compare it to is the in-between songs bits on Terrorvision's Fired up and Lairy video. Only with less talk of demons and curly wurly's and more crisps.

that's not what i meant, although i'm not denying that the eureka machines are collective genii, the video is kinda cringey, except the football bit and the end. i just watched some footage of them on youtube doing take on me at a gig, and laughed all the way through.

If they could put that on DVD and add the videos from albums 3-5, I'd be a very happy man.

Eureka Machines are on at 12.20pm at both Reading and Leeds. Which by my reckoning makes them probably second on, because the tented stages usually start at 11.30am on Sundays, so that'd be a band playing from 11.30-12. I could be wrong about this though.

This works well because we can flyer the heck out of the mob waiting for the arena gates to open on Sunday, thereby a) easily flyering loads of people and giving them something to do if their first event of the day was to visit the bar, b) not missing any bands ourselves \nd c) not having the ballache of walking past the security with bags full of flyers.

Also d) this means they're not on at the same time as, say, Metallica. Last year if you weren't the Pumpkins or Klaxons, nobody watched you on Sunday night. I know this because I watched The Hold Steady play to a near-empty tent.
