looking at a good £3.50 - 5.50
I would say pub prices are likely to be around the £3 mark. Can be well under £3 in some London pubs - not just the dreaded Weatherspoons. I've lived in London all my life and never paid £4 or over for a pint in a pub. Music venues are far worse, and many only sell tinned or bottled beer - always a rip-off! £3.50 for a tin or small bottle of beer is very common - equalling £7 a pint. Sheperds Bush Empire is a Carling venue unfortunately, so the beer selection at the bar will be very poor - keg lager or Guinness only at around the £3.60 mark if I remember correctly.

It's a Saturday, I'd have thought there's a good chance people will be drifting in all afternoon.

so it's official O' NEIL'S is the place to be any time between opening and 6.30 ish

If I'm gonna punish myself and go see the match between the 2 managerless teams at Upton Park, it looks like I won't be getting to the meet up till about quarter to 7, keep yer eyes peeled for a depressed Geordie on his own looking lost

According to the fare sheet at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/tax ... /1140.aspx you'll be looking at between £14 and £21.

I remember being charged £25 for a 6-ish mile journey at 3am one night last year when I was stuck somewhere with no night bus route so that seems accurate (if painful). Have you checked whether there are any night buses going near where you're staying? Single fare would be 2 quid each...

Just to say...

I will be there too - don't know when as will be driving and traffic on Sat unpredictable. If I arrive before door opening I'll try O'Neills for familiar faces.
A tip for anyone driving - I used to park in the multi-storey above the shopping centre but that comes out to about £10 for the evening. I now always park in one of the side streets off the Uxbridge Road or Goldhawk Road, which is unrestricted after about 6pm and free.
See you all there!

Does anyone know of any decent and cheapish hotel's nearby? Flying down from Glasgow the night before and I don't really wanna be carrying bags about all weekend.

cheers

Don't know about decent but I found a bed for £40 just up the road from the empire. Probably going to be a glorious dump but as I'm spending 1 night there and I'll probably have a few pints in me I really don't care. My house smells like dogs, the window seals are going and there's a damp patch on my wall, as long as I have a duvet and a roof I'm sorted!
I just went on booking.com, searched the area for cheap hotels, and picked the one with the least bad reviews.
O neil's and a cheap B&B, I'm really living it up next weekend.

Or, if you don't fancy driving into central London, I always park in the back streets of Hendon (turn right at the traffic lights just outside Hendon Central tube station, as you approach the North Circular on the A41). It's free, and you can get the tube across London which is usually faster than trying to drive it.
