I think it's the way he pronounces it 'fock' that pushes Lars over into comedy.

They were still pretty young in A year and a half..., so you could excuse some of it as exuberance at becoming incredibly famous fairly suddenly (I know they'd been building fairly solidly with every album, but after Black it was something else). I think it was when Lars is selling his art collection that I finally thought 'Oh dear...'.

Tell me about it. That outburst at James is classic. To this day, me and my brother will get round awkward situations by dropping everything and going "Fock... Fock... (In each others' faces)FOOOOOOCK!" And agreed, that auction scene is just painful to watch.

Fair point on Jason, though he gets a pass from me for always seeming to be the most down-to-earth of the bunch of them.

I had to google Rock Star Supernova... OMG! They never showed that over here as far as I know, unless it was buried on one of the satellite channels, but I'd have thought someone would have mentioned it if it had been.

I'm gonna have to go and look for it on YouTube now.

Having said all that, I've been checking out the Death Magnetic leaks on YouTube and I have to say: this is a fucking fantastic album. Imagine the riffs and song structures of classic Metallica combined with occasional hints of the 'Load' style songwriting, but in a way that compliments the heaviness. The only duffer is Unforgiven III, which is (surprise surprise) completely unneccesary and, frankly, dull as all fuck. Favourites so far: That Was Just Your Life, All Nightmare Long (Despite the dire title) and The Judas Kiss. It's far and away their best record since Justice, possibly Puppets (But I'll need a good few more listens before I make that call)

And trust me, I'm fucking STUNNED I'm typing that, but it looks like they actually, finally did it.

I'll second this.... it's the best Metallica record in fuckin years \m/

Bought Metallicas new album in HMV today.

Have to say so far it's a f**kin belter(i'm about halfway through).Best thing they've done in about 20 years.

In Warrington, Woolworths had it on the shelves, but when I took it to the counter they wouldn't sell it me. They offered to pre-order it for me (for tomorrow) though...hmmmm....

Nipped in to HMV and bought it no problem (had both editions). The ever-so-nice chap behind the counter told me they'd been told yesterday that the release date had been brought forward.

Oh, and I am mostly loving it.

I SO wanted that coffin box but it was literaly this or the hotel room down in London at the weekend

Even thou I couldnt have put the money to better use, Im still gutted about missing this and will probly end up paying way over the odds for it on Ebay after I return home and get my remaining funds together.

Btw I honestly think this is the best 'Tallica album in almost 2 decades and am chuffd ta bits to see metal back in the charts (DMagnetic beat Glassvegas to UK number 1 album today in case ya didnt know. Get in!)
