Heard any good albums recently?

Postby kateyay » 23rd Apr 06, 18:33

I'm on music overdrive at the moment. These ones I've heard recently (or revisited!) and loved:

Honeycrack - PS - Unreleased Demoes
The Replacements - Let It Be
Pulp - Different Class
Butch Walker - This Is Me (Justified and Stripped)
Beck - Guero
Silver Sun - Disappear Here
Sufjan Stevens - Illinoise
Sugarplum Fairies - Fruit Karma

How's about the rest of you? 8)

The new Chrlatans album is great. If you can get past/accept the reggae bit in the middle.
Some cracking tunes on it!!!
Going to see them at the Barras on tuesday, promises to be a corker!!!

New Eagles of Death Metal album is on it's way (import). If the single is anything to go by (and I think it is) it'll be fucking great!!!

Looking forward, also, to Primal Scream - Riot City Blues.
That, too, will kick ass!!!! I just know it!!!
Did you lie to us, Tony?

Have to say the new songs sounded cool yesterday, even in striped down acoustic form. Of course the jazz version of Knives takes some beating...
New Kazooee album 'Wish I Had A Wolf Suit' OUT NOW!

Taking Back Sunday- Louder Now... that album is out tomorrow, it's worth it just for the track "Error Operator."
The Barbs- Lupine Peroxide... Shame they aren't around anymore, however Tim and Amy do have a new band called "what would jesus drive?" who are pretty damn good, every time I see them they get better and better.
Isn't it ironic that not many people know the meaning of the word esoteric?

The new Flaming Lips album is top.

I forgot Therapy?'s was out! Next week, isn't it? Time to smash open the piggy bank.

New Silver Sun album this side of summer hopefully, too. There's a Liverpool gig and a Japanese festival appearance lined up so some action is definitely on the horizon.

And The Lemonheads have just signed a record deal to put out a new album!

I realise only one of the above four is a proper answer to the question. Sorry!

best song?

i like 'dopamine, seratonin, adrenalin' and 'fear of god' so far

the listening continues...

Also check out Wolfmother's self titled album, apart from the worrying fact that NME and the fly love them, they are truly excellent.
and that's the only thing i'm going to say.

exactly what i thought , unless theres some strange cult that loves Therapy? down there i cant imagine that many people turning up to that , not because no welsh people like therapy? just the fact that its in such an obscure place to play.

i will be making the trip down there though, i'll either have to convince a friend to come or my mother will have to make due again lol , god i feel sad :D
