Imperial Vipers

Postby Andy » 10th Apr 09, 21:47

Just read the new Classic Rock mag and theres a review (page 77) of a band called Imperial Vipers (Iv'e not heard of them) and a part of the review says ''...with enough monolithic riffs and melodic nous to suggest that Imperial Vipers could yet become The Wildhearts commerically successful little brothers.''

So any one rate them?

The London & Luton based five-piece have already notched up an impressive list of successes throughout the UK and Europe. 2006 has seen them tour with the likes of the legendary Hanoi Rocks who loved the band's "energy and passion" and Ginger of Wildhearts fame who described them as "the best new band around."

Didn't these guys support Ginger on one of his solo tours? Seem to remember them being fairly good....

I bought their first on the strength of their efforts at a Ginger support gig, they had some good songs live but sadly the album doesn't seem to work for me - all rock mannerisms and not much in the way of real unselfconscious performance. They seemed like a good bunch of blokes though so I hope this one is better
Blimey but I am tired

I've seen 'em a few times. A good band who unlike many aren't trying to be someone else. The second album 'Broken' is much better than the first one.
