Something tells me the college rock reference will be invalid.
Did you just say "Pig Flute"?

just heard 1-minute clips of each song, and aside from a horrible kanye-west-esque vocoder-vocal effect in the title track i am, to coin a yank-phrase, FUCKING STOKED.

ginger's vocals are sounding stronger than ever too i reckon.
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

Alas, it's a vetted, subscription only service that the reviewers use to get their copies, and isn't available for general consumption.

Think Kraftwerk. A vocoder is a sound effect that can make a human voice sound synthetic. It is often used to speak like a robot, with a metallic and monotonous voice.

Or alternatively, think Believe by Cher. It was the track that both made me aware of and utterly pissed off by the effect. It seemed to pop up everywhere afterwards, but that was probably just me.

yeah, I can understand that....... because it didn't really fit the song imo (and way too much auto-tune abuse on that track too) but used in the right context it can be good.

This song still blows my mind 28 years later.

........I'm really interested in hearing how it will work in the context of a WH's song.

one minute clips

Postby billyK » 2nd Aug 09, 18:26

I've also found some one minute clips on Amazon, and yeah it's sounding truly amazing. They've really pushed the boat out in terms of sound. Those heavy guitars sound like something from Pantera's back catalogue. I have to wait a month to buy it????! !!! :!: :?: No way I can't wait that long!

Here's a question. Does anyone know if it's going to be released on emusic?
It won't give up it wants me dead, God damn this noise inside my head....

Ah, the ones Spoony heard are longer than the Amazon ones.

I can't see why it wouldn't be on eMusic, everything else recent is on there.

Not a bad review even if it is a slightly surreal one, possibly the only time Sean William Scott and Tara Reid will ever be used in relation to a Wildhearts review.

The comment about Scott singing Plastic Jebus I'm not to sure on, I'm pretty sure it's Ginger singing it but you can definatley hear Sorry above the rest of them in the chorus.
