I'm assuming it isn't blatantly a CDR if you look at it?

Optimistically, I'd imagine a balls-up in the pressing plant meant that, for whatever reason, the CD didn't get printed on.

Realistically, either the CD got lost or damaged and a copy of the two tracks was knocked off to replace it.

Seems odd that Steel Wheels didn't check out the inside of the case before they put it up for sale though?

Nah it isnt a cheap CD-R it looks the same as a record company CD acetate which is why I am still not sure about it.....it looks too good to be just a knock off.

Steel-Wheels is normally brilliant so who knows it could be an early promo/acetate of the CD or something similar.

He's not on very often though and I don't know whether he'd chance upon this thread, so you're probably better off contacting him. :)

Found it!

This is one I don't own myself (anyone got one for sale?), but I've got it listed in the discography as it's an official piece of product, ie. it was manufactured and sold by the band. I don't know at exactly which gigs - I've never missed a tour but they weren't sold at any gig that I was at. The hand-written CD-R looks dodgy tho, but it's possible that both that and the one with the picture label were sold. For example, the early copies of Potatoes & You were CD-Rs, and then it got reprinted onto proper silver CDs.

So, in conclusion, I don't know! :)

Yeah that was quite possibly my vaguest post ever. Or possibly not. It could have been, I'm not sure, I wasn't there, but I think it was. Perhaps.
