Hey mate,

Do you mind three more tagging along with you coming in from California? It would be me, my wife & 19 year old step-son.

nig1012: You and the missus' airfare 424 quid. 2 nights in an decent Hotel 200 quid. Cab rides 30 quid. Tickets 16 quid. Beer and food you might piss away 100 quid.

That's under 800 pounds for the weekend for both of you. Don't give up so easy. Knock off a TESCO and come over.

One of these days I really want to go to New York - is it that much for a hotel? Eek.

You can stay in Brooklyn (cool in it's own right) just east of Manhattan for about 50-60 pounds.

In order to be a worthy contributor to this board, I just booked a flight to Texas for the following Saturday. [/i]

I still haven't convinced the other half that it's worth spending a few hundred quid going to the US just for a gig. I am slowly wearing her down though.

Nah...that's not the problem. The week prior to the NYC gig I will be spending in Pittsburgh working an aircraft delivery that's due to close on 9th Feb. These deals always slide to the right so I'll be stuck there until we're all wrapped up. It may be a last minute effort since NYC is not a gazillion miles from Pittsburgh. I'm certain that SXSW clashes with something else in the business diary as well. Rest assured, if I can scheme something up, I'll be there.

Well, if I'd had a job, I would have given this some serious, serious thought, but since I don't, I can't :( :( :(
