Just to add my thoughts.
I really like Yoni. Think its a great pop record. Not as complete a package as BLM, but then again, I dont think ginger will ever make a record as good as that, but here's hoping . I personally prefer Yoni to Valor, but again, just my opinion.

Yoni is a good album but if i had to pick the better album its Valor but thats maybe due to not having listened to Yoni enough.
As for BLM quality album that made me rediscover both Ginger and The Wildhearts

Having listened to Yoni a lot, I gotta say I like it. Not all of it, but most of it. I'm not digging on Siberian Angel, can't see the point in recording a solo CD and having someone else sing on it. The record is a great pop-rock record, simple as.

Don't want to start a massive arguement or anything but I really think everyone on here just sees anything ginger does through rose tinted specs :S

It's a bit of a shame that hardly anyone is willing to be very critical or, dare i say it, actually negative.

hasn`t it occured to you though that some people do actually really love the album me included and from what i`ve read on these pages people are being critical, personly i never rated TWMBD but its just personal choice. i don`t think you should asume we`re all lying just cus you don`t like the album.

Anyway, I like the album, and think some tracks are very good. Just think ginger could release an album of him banging his head on a desk and a lot of people would say "it's brilliant, love it, best album ever" etc.

From such a large group of serious music listeners, and in some cases talented musicians in thier own right, it would just be cool to hear some criticisms.

I never said everyones lying because I don''t like it. In the same way I never actually said I didn't like it.

Anyway, its a really good album with some very good tracks and some growers

I was disapointed when I 1st heard it as I thought it was tinny and didn't like the long winded bass jams and stuff. After three or so listens I gave up on it a bit and lost the enthusiam to play it again.

BUT!

Played it another time and all of a sudden catchy bits of songs kept popping up in my head. Then played it again and thought 'that Ginger has done it again' and can't stop playing it now.

Sometimes I find the albums that are not as immediate give the greater rewards if you persevere and the ones that you get to quick so become boring.

Ummm - who was being an arse? If you mean Mr Nig I think he had an excellent point, I've seen just as much criticism for Yoni as I have praise, and I see that trend being the case for most of the stuff Ginger has done.

But that's by the by! There was no arsieness from what I could see.

Seriously tho, don't take things so seriously. Otherwise someone WILL be an arse and piss everybody off. I did that once and people got pissed off. I know what I'm talking about.

finally got round to buying yoni the other day. wasn't at all impressed at first but i'm getting into it now. love the artwork. when she comes, jake, why cant you just be normal are standout tracks for me. dont reckon much of the last 3 tracks tho. maybe i'll grow to love em in time.
