Ask Ginger Questions

Albums, singles, songs and general Ginger banter

I guess this is a question that many of us would like to know the answer to... probably including Ginger himself:

Is this just a contractual obligation reformation to deliver a final album to Gut (sure I've read somewhere that you still owe them an album...), or do you envisage The Wildhearts continuing as a going concern beyond the current campaign?

According to the recent Ginger Says, the new album's coming out on Round Records.

Do you reckon they'd have gone to the trouble of importing a whole new bass player (when Jon's still about and Ginger did the bass on the last one) if there weren't bigger plans?

yep the "Yoni" tour was very short although it was brilliant it deserved a bigger national and even international coverage. Considering this is one of the best albums Ginger has ever released and I believe probably the most successful so far. Hope theres more touring from GASC or Ginger Solo in the near future.
I have just come across a myspace for Denzel www.myspace.com/bethegivesgoodlessons

Well that's the "joy" of following the Wildhearts, you never know what's going to happen with the band from one day to the next... much as we all wish for some stability, the unexpected has almost become expected.

Don't have the time to dig out the quote but I'm 99% certain that at some point someone has said that Gut are still owed an album. Yes the new album has a Round catalogue number, but Sick of Drugs, Red Light & the 2nd FFL were released by Round in conjunction with eastwest, Vanilla Radio & Stormy were released by Round in conjunction with Snapper and So Into You was Round affiliated to Gut.

Yeah, that was (and probably still is) the case, CJ mentioned it in the R'n'R Geek Show interview he did. It's just the way Ginger phrased it, it seemed to me like he was saying it would be a wholly Round Records product.

Ginger wrote:2006 was rounded off with The Wildhearts beginning recording the brand new, self titled album, due to be released in April 2007, once again on Round Records. Not bad for a one man label, huh?

What monent of your musical career are you most proud of right now?

What was your lowest ebb and how did you come through it?

Where in the world have you not played yet and would most like to do so?

There's a gun at your head: You have to choose one of the following
Kiss or the New York Dolls?
Drummers or bass players?
Mick Jagger or John Lennon?
Shearer or Supermac?
Brown or white bread?
Grimsby or Hastings?
Supermodels or girls in bands?
Being stuck on a holiday with Jade Goody for a month or having to communicate for an entire year through the medium of contemporary dance?

With the new album being self titled, is this an indication to a new start for he band, with everyone in the band being more focused and dedicated to it being successful ?.

Also have you ever thought about doing a GN'R and releasing a double album ?

P.H.U.Q. was meant to be a double album (along with the six tracks from the original Fishing For Luckies) but (Fuck)EastWest weren't having any of it.

Oh, and VDC of course...

Never mind 'Ask Ginger', we should change this to 'Ask An Anal Wildhearts Fan'.

Ah, right - wouldn't put it past him. This forthcoming album was originally slated as a 30 track behemoth (unfortunately, 1 or 2 tracks seem to have fallen off the CD... ).

The Use Your Illusions were actually both double albums - on vinyl at least...

Oh, and I forgot A Break In The Weather too, but I reckon that was just to stretch the running time out a bit while you changed the CD, 'cos it's only just over an hour long.

Yes, I was hoping to use some of those too, but thought it would be good to get some recent questions answered here too.

Cheers
