Generally speaking, apparently yes. They seem to have shifted severeal copies of their LPs.

There's always one shite headliner at Reading - it used to be Black Grape, but since they've gone there's a gap in the field...

i don't understand why bands like razorshite are so big - they mumble alll their lyrics, the music all sounds muffled and they don't seem to have an original idea/tune in their heads.
why do i have to ignore you to get your attention?

First album, yes. Second album, no. Funnily enough, last time they were at Reading they were the band on after The Wildhearts and everyone at the time on here said "who the $%%£ are they?"

But they took a massive MOR spin on the new album, so the choice to make them headliners doesn't seem to have gone down that well even with the Reading regulars, never mind the metallers...

I got the first album when it made it into HMV's perpetual sale, and it's got a few good tracks on it. The sheer amount of airplay that stuff from the second album's had has put me off a bit.

It was ever thus... To be honest, I think the headliners are really to help shift day tickets, 'cos, with a few exceptions, the smaller bands tend to be more exciting - and it's not just about the music anyway. Why, there's Joe Banana's and the Pizza Bus ferfuksake.

well - if headliners are there to shift day tickets.. then it's worked on me!

Bought a Friday leeds ticket.

Smashing pumpkins and NIN both on the same bill? Was just too tempting for me to resist!!

Me too, there are tentative plans afoot for a trip to Reading on the Sunday. It's my friend's wedding on the Saturday and she was seriously considering cancelling it when she found out about the Pumpkins. :)

Because the masses need to be told what to like, and gently fed muzzak that is inoffensive and requires no great demands of thought or on their valuble time. To me this stuff is worse tha pop music - at least pop is open about what it is, this shit pretends to be deep but its just wank.
