Best Wildhearts b-side set?

Suckerpunch B-sides for me. Although when i first heard Mindslide I couldnt stop humming it for a few days.

First time I was dissapointed by the b-sides was when they released Sick of Drugs

Whoa there Jackson.....all three songs on there are total classics, and how good are they when Ginger does them on acoustic shows

In my ears, not very good.
I just dont think Ginger/Wildhearts does acoustic songs, slow-temo tunes or ballads very good. IMO it just dont fits. Of course I love "Truth", "Chruch of the...", and "Tom take the money and run", but the Anthem b-sides was in my ears very dissapointing, and Ginger acoustic is for me just as interesting as an Oasis documentary...

Suckerpunch with it's nose out front. Never really liked the I Wanna Go b-sides (just didn't do it for me), but all the rest are up there competing.
Basically, there's 3 or 4 more shit-hot album's worth of songs in the b-sides - no other band has that sort of consistency.

Hmmm, its interesting how many people are saying 'Suckerpunch.' Although '29x The Pain' is probably my favourite Ginger song (maybe my favourite song outright), I didn't expect so many to pick a b-side set with a different/ 'softer' production job to most Wildhearts stuff.

Not a criticism, but I always thought it must have been a pretty confusing set of songs for anyone who had come to the Wildies through hearing Suckerpunch's crunching-death-metal-turbo-punk-pop looniness and buying the single. If there are such people. Then again, I suppose 'Suckerpunch' is pretty confusing on its own.

Of course we all have our tastes, but after the endless riffing it was a breath of fresh air to hear Wildhearts doing something more chilled out, and the Sick of Drugs b-sides were when the WHs went from being another British rock band like the Almighty, Terrorvision and Therapy, to being one of my favourite bands ever. And you realise you're doing down Geordiw in Wonderland too?

The Ginger acoustic shows were what kept me interested in the man during the WH Must be Destroyed period, which although ok, was very very patchy in terms of song quality, it seemed like an exercise getting out as many songs as possible without any quality control.

I love the Endless Nameless b-sides. White Lies, The Song Formally Known As, Zomboid are just fantastic!!! But aside from that, the Lovebank single was excellent!

No way! I love GiW, of course. And when they "wasted" all those unbelievable great tunes, including GiW, on a "fan club only" album, then they turned into my all time favourite band.

Well, here we totally disagree. Ginger acoustic for me can be kinda fun to listen to, but nothing I put in my player to often. IMO its not the same magic over the tunes when he do them stripped down, but I guess its better to be there live than just listen to the audio.

About the WH Must be Destroyed period, I think 99% of the tunes are brilliant, and it´s my favourite era of the band besides Earth VS and Fishing For Luckies (first release) era.
I dont think Nexus Icon, L.T.D, Return To Zero and Get Your Groove On are good songs, but the rest is fantastic in my ears. But IMO Wildhearts with and without CJ are to very different bands, and I really think the line-up with CJ in the band is killing the other line-ups´output. I dont know exactly what the difference is, but I guess the pop elements he adds to Gingers tunes and the backing vocal just fits perfectly.

Interesting, cos Nexus Icon and LTD are my favourite tunes of that era. I also loved Action Panzer and OCD... It's the odd timing, twisty turny stuff that's cool... I also think Bang is one of the best songs they've ever done...

It's just that songs such as If I Decide, Move On, Let's Go, Return to Zero are the only WH Bsides I skip on my minidisc which has all the bsides... And You got to get through.... although it has a great riff, is a bit of a nothing song

I think we'll have to beg to differ as I think our tastes seem at total opposites.

I still like the songs, but they don't stand up to the rest.
