Firefly/Serenity

Postby Andy » 24th Feb 06, 00:27

Anyone else like this tv series. I've only just discovered it after a friend reccommended it to me. Took a few eps for me to get into it, then I was gutted to find it had been cancelled. Iv'e not seen Serenity yet but have it on order. Is the film any good?
Great theme tune to the series btw.

I was force-fed the series box set after a booze session with a friend... Since this was during the Christmas holidays I had plenty of time to work my way through it..

Turned out I didn't need much time as I got through the lot in about 2 days. Excellent show :)

I loved the film (short shrift treatment of one of the major characters aside) as did a few other friends who're fans of the show, but the chap who leant me the box set was less keen.

I'm on disc four at the moment and it's bloody great! I got the box set ages ago before the film came out after seeing the 1st 2 episodes at a mates house, but never got round to watching it until recently. Watching Serenity on Saturday, can't wait but it's been hyped to buggery!!

Serenity was great. Managed to give a nice ending to the series, while still keeping it open for future films/episodes, not that there's any chance of that happening now, mind.

Bought the series box set after much harrassment from some die hard fans at work. Must admit, absolutely loved the series and am distraught at the possibility there may be no more.

Watched Serenity last week and have to say it was great, but just didn't live up to the series for me. This is not to say it was shite in any way, shape or form, but the series was just outstanding. Won't spoil anything, but sincerely hope they do make more, either in the proposed movie trilogy vein or a reinstatement of the series, there's so many questions unanswered. Read an interview with Joss Whedon last week and he said Serenity didn't do that well at the cinema, so it all depended on DVD sales.

I really need to get that film! I kinda fell into the series when then flatmate brought it home after getting talked into buying it! Think we managed to watch the entire box set in 2 days which I thought was pretty impressive! I did hear though that the film was kinda left open in case they did another series......

rumour on t'internet has it that Joss Whedon has said that due to a couple of characters unfortunate endings, if the did make another serenity film, it would probably be a prequal.

He's said that Shepard Book has got this whole big backstory (about how he knows so much about the alliance and all that) And he'd really like to tell it, so, fingers crossed!!!

Apologies, im a complete Whedon geek.........

Well the flatmate finally bought the film so had to watch it that night naturally!
It were gert wicked is all I can say. The prequel idea sounds pretty cool though, would be good to know more bout the Sheppard story cos he seems bit of a dark character to me...

Serenity rocked. *nodnod*

Firefly.. I've only seen the first 5 or so episodes so far, but it's very watchable.

But then, anything Joss Whedon does tends to be superb. :D
