Personally I think they make a pretty blinding 31 track double album. I don't think there're any tracks I don't like at least most of: hmmm, could lose the chorus of Lake Of Piss though.

Move On is great, for the message if nothing else. I love the way Ginger writes something really simple and obvious in a song and I listen to it and thing "wow, I hadn't thought of it that. I guess I *will* move on, instead of wallowing in the crap that I was previous wallowing in". Maybe that's just me tho.

Also good: OCD, Got To Get Through, Bang, Lake Of Piss, Action Panzer. All would have been a positive contribution to Must Be Destroyed if they were on there. So nerr.

My own two-cents-worth is this:

For production quality TWMBD is by far miles better than CW. However, overall, I think the tunes are much better on CW.

Personally, TWMD has some of the finest pop-rock tunes this side of the good ship Cheap Trick, but it also has some stinkers (Get Your Groove On, Only Love, Out From The Inside, So Into You) which, in me overused opinion, drags down the overall quality of said record.

I will say thoough, TWMBD helped me through a difficult time after breaking up with a girl - who can be only described as swamp-donkey super bitch. So cheers Ginge!

That's not entirely surprising though. TWMBD was recorded in one go (so to speak), whereas the stuff on CW is from (at least) four seperate sessons over something like two years (and two different line-ups). Usually pretty quickly too, when you've got a couple of days spare and can get some studio time. I'm pretty sure a few of the older B-sides are whole band, one-shot deals.

But like you said, the songs still shine through.

When the singles came out I taped them all & their respective b-sides/extra tracks onto a cassette to play in the car (old car!) without duplicating the a-sides obviously & I think that works far better as an album than TWMBD or CW, the singles are all strong tracks & really make the difference, if CW had the a-sides on it it would be much better as an album. That said I like both albums but neither are total classics.
