I wasn't really saying this song is sexist- more that it's lyrics are surprising coming from someone who has been so vocal in the past about those issues (and more recently mental health issues). I think I'm just a bit tired of the whole 'i'm a victim of a psycho bitch' theme.

Hey, at least the lyrics are interesting and get us talking- interesting lyrics are getting rarer and are worth 'over-analysing'.

Never had the urge to murder an Ex. so I don't see it that way at all. The first line says it all...
"What the Hell has come over ME?"
... the singer is talking to himself about himself.

But doesn't matter what Ginger was thinking when he wrote it? It's what you as an individual make of it that counts and the above my two pence worth on the song.

I'd like to see what everyone would've made of it if he'd written the like of Delia's Gone or Cocaine Blues

I just wanted to add that I've hardly listened to the new album in the past week or so, just not had the time but today I put it on whilst the kids were in the bath and BiPolar baby has just clicked with me, infact the whole album has, I no longer turn it off after "slaughters authors"

But yeah, just realised today how great this song actually is. Another classic.

well thanks for sorting that out for us. there was us debating the issue and all along all we needed was someone to tell us the correct answer.

I just don't see anything in there that is sexist or encourages violence. In the song, he sounds like he is saying he has had those feelings and is scared of them, which is part of the reason he's ending the relationship. It's also a kinda ironic twist, since it sounds like staying with her is making him as disturbed as he considers SHE is.

I wondered if it was an indication that Ginger has somehow pulled himself away from the extremes of bipolar disorder: hence his 'I just get melancholy now...' statement or whatever in his recent K! interview. Without trying to sound like Peter Pretension, is it that he is now able to treat the condition with some metaphoric distance, in describing the non-bipolar ups and downs of a p(r)issy girlfriend?

Although, given that bi-polar disorder is a brain-chemistry issue (from my understanding), then it seems that you can't really 'think' your way out of it. But what do I know? Probably piss all.

I love Bi polar baby and see it from two perpectives the man not being able to handle the condition and the changes that it places on the person and the relationship. And woman going through the changes with the condition, and neither of them being able to explain or accept the way its forced changes.
