Hello, guys – I figured there might be some Turbonegro fans around here, so I hope you don’t mind a quick plug-type post to let you know that Turbonegro’s new album, Retox, is out on Monday 9th July.
Retox is a remorseless collaging of influences from across the spectrum of classic rock, punk and metal – what Turbonegro call their musical “dream cocktail”. It’s hard, heavy, hilarious, terrifying, offensive, dumb-ass, thought-provoking and plain genocidal all at once. A record which, to borrow a lyric from its riotous lead single, ‘Do You Do You Dig Destruction’, will hit you like “brass-knuckles and a 2-by-4”. Retox reminds you that rock & roll exists to be fun, funny, liberated and oblivious to its own consequence.
Turbonegro are playing nearly every good Rock festival in Europe this summer, including the UK’s Reading/Leeds Rock festival over the bank holiday weekend. They’re also playing a smaller gig in Edinburgh at the Liquid Rooms on 25th August, as part of T on the Fringe.
