Edited to say Have looked again and found said cheapy Travelodge. Now to see if it's anywhere near any decent rock nights in clubs for a bit of post-gig pre-xmas amusement...

Don't keep it to yourself...

It was the Travelodge Farringdon, almost walkable from the Astoria (but better as a tube or taxi probably) but they've goen and changed the bloody price. It was £29 yesterday but £49 today, why oh why didn't I book the fucker when I had the chance! Looks like the post-gig club option is out the window and replaced by the post-gig mad scramble to catch the last train back...

There is also a Travelodge at Kings Cross I think - near the Scala.

There are several, but they're all quoting 90-odd quid a night. :?

Really? I just booked the Docklands one for £26. Sure it's a little out of the way, but it's only a ride on the tube, which you're almost certainly going to have to do anyway. Hang on, let's check...

...ah, the £26 rate is now a £29 rate. Which is gone at the Docklands but still available at the City Airport. Depends on whether you mind spending 45 minutes on the tube post-gig...

There's quite a few very cheap hotels around the Kings Cross area.. not particularly nice, but they're somewhere to stay. Or you could try easyhotel.com, which aims to be cheap/basic but clean and in non-deadly locations.

Incidentally, if anyone's not yet bought tickets for the Wolverhampton gig, drop me a line because I may have a few to spare. :/

It seems like The Wildhearts will play the XFest in Newport on the 22nd December as well.

Ah, it was only the centre of town ones I was on about. Unfortunately, the two you mention are almost directly across the river from my mate's flat, so I might as well just brave the night bus and save myself 30 quid. :?

Found another cheapy place, within spitting distance of the Astoria and only £30 a night including breakfast - http://www.travelstay.com/pages/Carr-SaundersHall.htm?affcode=RA - basic but it'll do me...

Does anyone have a spare ticket for the Astoria Gig? I am going to try and pull off a crazy stunt (work trip) and be there for it.

It's not actually sold out yet - clicky

But if you're hoping to grab a spare on the off chance that you can get here, you're probably better off waiting until a bit nearer the date. :)

Just booked rooms at the Novotel, Wolverhampton. Bro-in-law and I will begin the festivities around mid afternoon. Hope the meet up's a bit more effective than last year :?

A boardie meet up would be cool. We're booked into the Hotel just round the corner from the venue (think it's the Brittania?) and have no idea where would be a good place to start off the days festivities. Any ideas anyone?
