Yeah, I think The Wildhearts would go down pretty well with a Foo Fighters audience. Especially the less heavy anthemic stuff like '29 x The Pain' or 'Sick Of Drugs'.

Well its wishful thinking on my part Ean. I'd have no idea how to get WH on that bill. I really hope someone can get the ball rolling though. Failing that, how about a slot on the bill with Iron Maiden at Twickenham next year July 5th.

Looks like plenty of people have been popping on to the site and getting tickets every now and again, but I haven't been able to due to being locked in a darkened room (**Skid Row flashback alert**) talking management bollocks. Whatever, it looks like it's worth keeping trying this link just in case...

The Wembley Ibis Hotel (which as you'll see from the picture is literally in the shadow of the stadium) is currently bookable at £62/night - you don't even pay upfront and can cancel any time up until 7pm on the day of arrival without being charged! Result.

I did something like this last year with Muse - booked as soon as I knew I was going before the rooms filled up, and the chains realised there was an event and they could shove the prices up!

Edit: just checked again and they seem to have realised and upped the Saturday price to £80, but bizarrely they've put down the Friday cost by £10. So if you book right now it should only cost a few quid more than it cost me...

Lucky enough to live on train line that goes to Wembley, so last train back for me. And a thought, but didn't Motorhead support the Foos at Hyde Park last year (and blow up the sound system as part of their slot )? And didn't the Wildhearts once support Motorhead? Another link, surely this must happen now?!?

Fair point, but with gates open at 12noon I reckon there's space for 3 or 4 bands (GnR had a few when they played Wembley in the 90s. I seem to remember Skid Row and Nine Inch Nails, and was there another?). Putting the Wildhearts on at 12:30/1pm for 1/2 an hour would give them a good slot, exposing them to a fair few people but presumably not the whole 75,000 (is that right?) capacity at that time. Besides, any band that's prepared to put Motorhead on their bill as support must have the balls to follow pretty much anything.
Still, all a bit moot probably, as much as I'd love to see it happen I just don't imagine it ever would...

Don't want to piss on anyones bonfire here,but be realistic.There is no chance of The Wildhearts supporting Foo Fighters at Wembley.
Face facts,the gig is a Radio 1 event and apart from Moyles having played 'Cheers' a couple of times recently,how often are The Wildhearts on Radio 1? How many listeners have even heard of The Wildhearts? Even with the very slight Dave Grohl connection,how much say do you really think he'll have in the supporting acts?
Don't get me wrong,this is a beautiful dream and I'd love to see it happen.But it won't.Ever.
The Wildhearts had their moment of favour with Radio 1 with the Sound City gig in Leeds.
Download however,a main stage,mid-afternoon slot is feasible,especially with the strong rumours of AC/DC playing....
