Don't bank on this. There's a lot of discussion and conjecture on what Astbury has said over on the Zeppelin forum. It would be down right friggin awesome if it did happen, and Page has kind of hinted that it's a possibility, but by no means is it a certainty as NME is reporting.

As good as this particular instance is the amount of reforming bands is ridiculous. Soon there won't be enough space for new bands. Do people really give a toss about westlife, s club (or steps can't remember which but probably both in time), etc. etc.

And it was supposed to be a one-off for led zep, I sort of wish they stuck to that.

Sounds like there's been some key changes as Robert can't do the high notes now, but the footage I've seen suggests he still sounds great apart from that...

I'll be interested to hear reports from some serious regular gig going music fans who went, as opposed to the majority who went who I suspect don't get out much and would have been overwhelmed by it all even if the band were merely average. I could tell before the gig had even taken place exactly what all the 'reviews' in the media would say ('gig of the century' etc) regardless of if the band were any good or not.

Been a Wildies fan from the start, been to loads of gigs with loads of bands.
First Zeppelin gig

it was fucking awesome, Its was loud, It was fast, it was tight.

Kashmir was my personal fave, knocked me for 6 it did, Stairway was a bit disappointing what with Plant not going for the high notes, Jimmy not using his little finger, he played the whole gig with 3 fingers!

Jason Bonham is one hell of a drummer and probably the only person good enough to fill his Dads shoes, certainly no way Grohl can do it!

And Dark Lord Of Barnet, some of the press DID slag them off, As they always have done with good talented but different bands (ring any bells).

Anyways one of the best gigs I've been to. Up there with Ginger acoustic at Scarbrough

The Led Zep O2 show received huge praises from those who went to the show. Most of the ticketholders were the music industry's hoi polloi, flying in from everywhere. The tour isn't officially announced, but it's going to happen. (That reduces them to being yet one more dinosaur act up for the art/money controversy.) The manager refuses to submit a sworn statement in writing saying they will NOT play Bonnaroo, which means they ARE. They're scheduled for Bonnaroo and one other show I can't remember. When a band says "we'll see" about touring, it's going to happen. The tour's planned, but the illusion the manager wants is that this is a one-off for charity. Expect the same dinosaur treatment. That's not to say they put on terrific shows - as I hear about van Halen, for instance - but, yes, one more act on the edge of killing their legacy. We'll see how they handle the papers. Just for the record, I'm not taking sides in the dinosaur debates; I have opinions, but I am in no position to tell the bands' managers what to do nor do I want to. Just expect to pay out the nose for tix.

Yes, I well remember Mötley Crüe denying all rumours about them getting back together even back when Nikki Sixx was playing Download with Brides Of Destruction, but the tour was already being planned...

I heard a rumour about two nights at Wembley Stadium being booked for next year but, as ever, we'll have to wait for an official statement on that. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are touring their album next year so that'll be nice.

I didn't go but as for the gig, I almost cried when I saw the setlist in the paper the next day. I think they only played Good Times Bad Times about 3 times when they were originally together. I notice they didn't play Immigrant Song. Probably wise with the vocal aerobatics needed to pull it off. Long live Percy!
