Yeah.. think I've decided to go to the Manc gig. Didn't like the latest album, but I'm fairly addicted to Shakedown! Also intrigued that they were asking on MySpace for people to say what their favourite HWP songs were - suspect they might be doing one or two of them live. :D

My thoughts exactly. I've been crossing my fingers and hoping for "One Night In Spain" since I read that message!

Hopefully I'll still be able to move after the Paradise Lost gig which is a few days before.. December seems to be a very busy month for gigs. :/

Yupyup.. they've been quite active this year - there was a one-off gig in London in May, they supported Type O Negative, and there's a proper tour next month.

Btw, I'm selling a spare ticket for the Manchester PL gig, if anyone's interested. :)

Have just been on the website and I think I probably saw the dates when they announced them but didn't take much notice and swiftly forgot them again because there isn't one close enough to here for me to easily get to. Saw them at Download though and thought they were one of the best bands of the weekend.

HWP were great, saw them at Ozzfest in er 98 or 99 I think. I have only got Shakedown! and thought it was a bit average, are the other albums better? I've oft looked at them in HMV, even picked them up a few times, but never got to third base and actually bought them!

My favourite album is Shakedown!, although I do like the new one as well. A bit more poppy/dancey though, so it kinda depends if you like that sorta thing.

Just the one HWP track. And a venue with tumbleweed.. Only about 50 people turned up. But there was a lot of dancing and enthusiasm, so was fun.

Just so you know, I'm putting them on in Sheffield - eflyer below:

PRESENTS

theSTART

Direct from LA and fronted by Aimee Echo (who you probably remember from fronting Human Waste Project) theSTART sound almost exactly like what Garbage should have done next, instead of living up to their name. All sultry synths, pounding drums, cold arpeggios and singalong choruses.

The regard they are held in over the pond is nicely summed up by the luminary list of bands they've played and collaborated with, including Garbage, She Wants Revenge, the Moving Units, The International Noise Conspiracy, Burning Brides, the Von Bondies, Joan Jett, Weezer, Incubus and AFI. Impressive, no?

For those still unconvinced here's a video of Aimee guesting on "Only Happy When it Rains" with Garbage

The supporting bill includes fabulous theramin country punk combo SCREAMING MIMI, marvellous multinational lady punkers SHUSH (featuring Milena and Marina from ANTIPRODUCT) , and the ever energetic DRIFTRUN

WEDNESDAY 12th DECEMBER - £6adv from Jacks or HERE - £7 on the door - Doors 8pm sharp!
