London Meet-Up

Postby Ean » 16th Dec 07, 03:02

As no-one seems to have started a thread on this yet, I'll have a bash. :D

So who's going to be about before the gig on Friday?

Yes, but with 15 year old in tow so more likely to be in the queue early than in the pub

i'll be there, meeting a good few mates but will arrange that for wherever the list meet is

i officially finish work at 5, but its the last day before closing for xmas so we might knock off a bit early, i'd definitely be around from 5.15ish if not earlier

the gig is at the astoria innit so all the pre-gig meets i've been to before have been in that weatherspoons on charing cross road. its good cos its big, the friday night before xmas in central london, most places will be rammed!

So the Montagu Pyke then?

Worked pretty well last time. :)

It was mentioned somewhere else but it bears repeating...

Friday night at the Astoria means early finish for the gay night. Which means music over by 10.20 and then unceremonious attempts by the security to get everyone out by 10.30. So if you want to see the supports, be there really early.

I can highly recomend the new Intrepid Fox - it's only yards away almost oposite the Astoria next to Centre Point. It's for more of a ROCK pub and less touristy. Reasonably priced booze too - where else in London can you get Newcastle Brown for £2.80? Also a great place to go after the gig as it's open til very late...

The Intrepid Fox is a very good plan, as I hate the entire Wetherspoons corporation with a passion. Also, to get there from the Astoria you can, if you want, walk down Denmark Street, scene of some Grievous Acoustic Behaviour in the past, and also a scene from the Stormy In The North video if memory serves. Late drinks and Wildies nostalgia trip in one - can't be beaten.
...Also i think the Intrepid Fox has a huge gargoyle over the door too 8)

Hi!

Anyone have a clue when The Wildhearts will hit the stage in London tomorrow?!
I´m travelling from Norway later today, and want to use most of Friday to have a look at London. I´d rather see some of the city than the warm-up bands, so if anyone have any info about show-start it would be very helpful.

Also, it would be really nice to meet other fans! When they played KOKO everyone was gone and the pubs where closed right after the show was over. I did not like that at all
