Fishing for Luckies Game

Postby Owen » 16th Dec 07, 18:43

Just a quicky, as Fishing for luckies is holding it own in the Ginger album game, I just wanted to know which version everybody prefers

For me the Fan Club version just sits better and is amazing top to bottom. As much as I love red light green light and sick of drugs etc there is a bit of padding on the general release (Padding = better than anybody else, and not any bad songs but not Ginger perfect)

Also it drives me nuts when nite songs comes on and the stupid laughing thing after 20 mins, and I have to get off my fat arse to skip on itunes!

So fan club for me.

i'd go for the general release fish-cover one, but maybe that's because i listened to it front-to-back repeatedly throughout the summer holidays and got used to it like it is.
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

The fish cover one, I know it loses some good tracks but as an album is holds in own as it feels more like an album than the fan club one which feels like a collection of songs (bloody good ones mind). The way the songs are linked is just better on the reissue and I like the way nite songs comes in after sky babies, sort of brings you back down gently I think.

The laughing is arguably annoying but really, it's technically not part of the album itself, so meh. The reissue is the better album, not the better songs, I don't think I could rate one over the other in terms of quality of the tunes themselves.

Erm just to be an awkward bastard i'll say the Japanese version

Weekend , Caffeine Bomb, 29x and Beautiful Me , Beautiful You added to an already amazing album.

I would say the Japanese one, but those songs are just tacked on at the end, they hardly count as part of the album.

The original one for me has to be the pinnacle version as it is superb from start to finish
