From what i remember (from an interview many years ago) Channel Bop is about being stuck with someone who just won't shut up. Talking AT you instead of with you in a 2 way conversation type way. Channel Bopping is apparently when you just stop listening, zone out and start thinking about more (or less) important things. A bit like channel surfing with the tv remote but you're not really taking anything on board.
