Download Festival

Postby Pudu » 5th Feb 08, 15:35

So the first 4 bands have been announced for this years Download. Lost Prophets and Offsrpring are 2 of the 3 headliners with Judas Priest filling a special guests slot. Him are also on the bill.

More announcements to be made tonight at 7.30.

Seems like Kerrang let it slip that Kiss are going to be the other headliner but dont know until its announced fully.

Fingers crossed we get a Wildhearts/Ginger performance among the bands - although not holding my breath too much!

On the rumors board of the Download forums someone said Ginger told them they were going to play Download, presumably this was sometime on the Christmas tour...someone else suggested putting Wildhearts on before Kiss in a vote topic as to whether Wildhearts should play...
Id be extremely tempted to go if they did...or better still, if they played Saturday so I could see the Offspring as well, just to avoid getting a weekend ticket and spending more money I dont have...

I must have missed that part of the rumours!

I would have voted Wildhearts before Kiss also but I dont think the masses would necessarily agree with that.

Its still a cracking weekend no matter what although the Wildhearts playing would just make it unmissable!

More bands have been announced officialy in the last hour or so. Heres the bands confirmed so far

Kiss
Motorhead
Judas Preist
Him
Offspring
Lostprophets
Rise Against.

Not bad, something for everone there! Lets jsut hope if the Wildhearts do play they wont be headlining the 2nd/ 3rd stage at the same time as Kiss cos that would be the twat of all clashes!

Ooohhh that has come early! They arent due for at least another half hour. Sounding better all the time. Old school mixed in with some new!

Now if WH were headlining a tent at same time as Lostprophets that wouldnt be so bad!

Surely to God, Judas Priest should be headlining the main stage?

Yeah, Lost Prophets headlining over Judas Priest and Motorhead seems a bit strange :/

I think it's a disgrace. No way would it of happened at the original and much better Monsters Of Rock at Donington. Back in 1980 the very first one Judas Priest were second on the bill to Rainbow. Many people have waited years for them to return. They should headline without a doubt.

It does look as though they are playing different days to each other - and on different stages. Seems as though Motorhead will be headlining the 2nd stage so on at the same time as Kiss (although cant tell that definately at the moment!)

 Oh shit, that'll be a nightmare if Kiss and Motorhead are on at the same time. The organisers wouldn't be that dumb, surely??
