Anyone else heard the album yet?

Any thoughts?

Yes. Liking it.

the KoKo show was excellent. They played most of the album, a couple of covers, a couple of Lanegan songs and a couple of Twilight SIngers. It seemed like Dulli was driving things, but it is always hard to tell with Lanegan not being the most dynamic of stage performers.

Hope they get back over when I know the songs better.

Is good.. Yay for MySpace streaming. Looking forward to seeing them in April. :D

Which Lanegan songs did you get at Koko, then?

Bought it at lunchtime, very good indeed. Loving Idle Hands, great driving riff... And my workmate noticed a Pink Floyd sample on there?

Oh, looks like there's an Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan tour in June as well. :D

just got this out of sheer curiosity (i've only heard bits of "1965" by afghan whigs, and the screaming trees' greatest hits), and i'm really liking it so far. such a dark and brooding record, really atmospheric.
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

Is a really good record. I still think they would be a better band without Greg, though.

A better band without Greg?

So just Mark Lanegan solo then?

Which you can get elsewhere and sounds somewhat like the Gutter Twins, but it's the combination of the two that makes this band work... I love both of them, but have a preference for Dulli as I love the Wihgs and the Twilight Singers
