evenin troops, anyone read classic rock yet this month? good feature in it about the ''brit-rock'' movement of the early 90's, interview with ginger among others and features the wildies, wolfsbane, almighty, gun and little angels. well worth reading. Also mentions that the wildies are putting 2 albums out this year,i know about the covers album but what is the 2nd one they are referring to?

have a good weekend y'all!

Second one is allegedly an album where they all take turns on the vocals

Cool, I shall have to buy my own copy this month then rather than just reading the office copy a month late when my boss has finished with it.

I have heard from a moderately reliable source that the 2nd Wildhearts album to be released this year will sound very "Kiss like". And yep, I think they all get to have a lead sing-song on it.

it still is mate.
did you not see the last few months? they reviewed the recent led zep gig over 3 issues !!!
i used to subscribe - i sent them a letter saying that they should change the name to Led Zep Monthly.
I just buy the odd copy now - but how many stories can there be about AC/DC, Deep Purple and Led Zep? its the same bands every month.
i didnt buy this months as I saw it was a Brit Rock special and just thought "Led Zep again."

I've never bought it cos (*turns to whispers) i'm not a big fan of 70's rock, apart from the obvious classics and never been a Zep fan either.

The Britrock feature is well worth reading, quite a few statements from Ginger. Surprised the likes of 'A', Terrorvision and Joyrider don't get a look in. Maybe on a little off shoot section listing the 'also rans'.

I'm gonna be controversial here again but not just for the sake of it, I truly think that Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and the like are a bag of wank and sound stale and boring.

Blunt and to the point but 100% true

I disagree totally and could say the same for the Ramones and the rolling stones sounding stale and boring, but I would probably get shot down on these boards for that so I won't. Each to their own. Some of my favourite bands are The Wildhearts, UFO, Faith No More, Stone Temple Pilots and Living Colour. However maybe apart from the wildhearts and FNM non of them had any real street cred so I could quite easily get shot down for that. I hated Nirvana because everyone liked them (don't mind them now) and that's why I'm not a huge fan of Think Lizzy, because UFO were always overlooked, yet were brilliant, but UFO were not cool and Phil Lynotts Thin Lizzy were. If I played Market Harbour to a rock fan they would say it wasn't cool. I play it to a wildhearts fan and all of a sudden it is. You see my point. Because ginger is cool, everything is. Yet Dire Straits were the kings of dullness because at the time the sex pistols were brilliantly cool. Why can't there be room for everyone - apart from James Blunt and The Kooks. Oh well, that's life.
