I have issues with gettin kicked in the head by crowd surfers, as far as i am concerned, if they make hard contact with me, that is licence to give them a swift punch in the balls, also like the shoe stealing and throwing thing... that can be fun. Being a pretty well built guy, i got really pissed off with a repeat offender in a small club in Notts one night and gave him a serious shoulder press, before dropping him on the floor from around 7 feet, got a round of applause for that one from band and crowd!!! I also saw security being very rough with people at a wildies (possibly moodswingers????) gig at wolverhampton many years ago. they dropped one guy back first onto the bracing from the crowd barrier.... he was lucky to walk away from that, but it was fair game in my opinion. it is just ignorant and i dont understand how it can improve anyones enjoyment of a gig.

I've had one bad incident in my time in this regard, and funnily enough it was at my first Wildhearts gig in 1995. Someone surfed over my head, and the next thing I have blood streaming down my face. Which is not good.

What was even less good was that it was one of my friends that came with me that did it.

I was at the barrier watching PWEI many moons ago. A crowd surfer landed on my head and pushed it forward as far as my neck would go. Then it went beyond that.

I was off work for a week. The doctor, hospital and work gave me puzzled looks as they had never heard of crowd surfing.

I suppose if they listen to Simply Red, Elton John etc they would never have come across it.
