I know someone said that Ginger said that they were at the xmas shows, and there is plenty of rumour forums tipping the band too.

Lets get the wildhearts to the top! seems to be plenty of support on there as theyve already had plenty of votes.

i reckon they deserve the 2nd stage headline myself but hey, its better than a slap in the face!!

Kiss have been confirmed as playing along with Lost Prophets and The Offspring and I've also heard Judas Priest and Motorhead, so in my opinon The Wildhearts fit easily into that line up alongside the usual tide of newer bands.

I reckon eleven of the twelve will be bands that are either flavour of the minute or we've never even heard of them or faling that as i've just seen the line up on the first day I'm guessing it could 1 band of lawyers for Ace Frehely and the rest will be 11 bands of lawyers to share between Gene and Paul Stanley.

Apparently someone from Testament, Chuck Billy* (sounds like a fun pastime) said he's been waiting 20 years to play Download. Fair enough, has the guy got the power of seeing into the future then?.

I believe that the Wildhearts haven't had a proper manager for some time, prefering to keep things 'in house'. Download booking policy is to only book bands who have managers. Not just that, but unless you have a good and well established manager then you ain't going to get your foot in the door...

The "buzz" on the Download forums is that the Wildhearts are part of a large number of bands being announced tomorrow, which would seem accurate considering how good the leaked information for other announcements has been so far....
