Extreme UK Tour

Postby vanrad » 17th Jul 08, 13:05

I've heard a few people mention Nuno Bettencourt & Extreme - just got emailled a 'pre-sale' for their UK Tour in November.

Has anyone heard the new song Star thats up on their myspace, hated it when I first heard it but its really starting to grow on me,

Good to see whatever differences Gary and Nuno had put aside cuz i remember for years Nuno saying he wasnt interested in doing it and now they're back and they sound a bit rough but fair play to 'em, I for one will definately be going to see them,, I saw them for the first time on their last Uk tour back in 95, first gig I ever went to without my folks taking me so Extreme where always part of my childhood though always prefereed III Sides to Every Story to Pornograffitti, they couldnt be anymore different to the rest of the stuff i listen to but fuck me I love this band, I had a an N2 washburn guitar for years, the exact replica Nuno had and I had to sell it earlier this year due to being ill and not worked in over a year to make ends meet and I was heartbroken to see it go (even though I did prefer playing gibsons and epiphones).

Anyone remember the Steamboat Band that supported them on that tour, I think they had one album out called Beggars and Riders and their singer looked like Bob Geldof, whatever happened to them?
Did you just say "Pig Flute"?

Yeah they are £28.50 for Manchester. Bit bloody steep even if they are the very first band I ever went to watch. This is like double the price that the Wildhearts charge!!!!

Maybe I'm getting on a bit (29 next year) but I thought even the anniversary show ticket price was a bit steep* at least with that you're guaranteed at least an hour and a half entertaintment and it's a special show so they can get away with it but 30 odd quid for the Astoria show, no I dont think so, why do bands that reform automatically think they can get away with charging nearly double what everyone else charges. Bring back the days when I could get a coach and gig ticket for around 30 quid,

*says he who was more than prepared to pay 150 quid on ebay to see the Cure back in March

I like Extreme a lot, but I like Mourning Widows about a hundred times more.

im not suprised ticket prices have gone up to be honest (although 30+ quid is crazy..). I imagine driving those buses around have got really expensive as of late.

I think £20 is reasonable for an astoria size band.

Terrorvision have been £20 for the last few tours and i didnt mind paying it. Thunder also have pushed passed 20 now..

i need a better job so i can afford more shows!

Costs rise... simple... fuel costs lots... more than double the cost before Bush and Blair invaded Iraq... hotels charge more... venues charge the promoter more to put on the show... everyone takes their cut...

Thunder have been over 20 for a few years now. The whole reason I havent seen them for a few years was because I thought the tickets were a bit steep for who they are.
