(This post is based on my spatial awareness that Acad 1 is twice as big as Acad 2. I am willing to stand corrected by the Wikipedia bods!)

The forum I was reading earlier suggested that Acad 2 was half the size of Acad 1 before the refurb, so it's going to be, what, double the size again now?

Unless I am totally cracking up last years tickets that I had actually said Academy 1. Wasnt happy when I eventually realised that 1 was closed and it was 2 again cos I as looking forward to seeing them on the same stage I very first saw them on back on the Earth Vs tour supporting the Almighty.

Thats true, it was advertised at Acad 1. I was actually waiting arround Academy 1 for a que to appear and just thought there was another gig on over at Academy 2 cos of the massive que untill I spotted several smileybonez logos in the que

I actually remember a note sellotaped outside the Academy 1 saying "The Wildhearts - Moved to Academy 2" with a big arrow on it cos thats what made me feel like an idiot for not noticing it sooner. Never actually found out wether this was because of the refurb or it had been downgraded.

Lets hope it is actually at Acad 1 this year so Im not standing there thinking "god, with a que like that, there must be a pretty big band on over at Academy 2. Hmmmm, I must be the first one in the que for the Wildhearts"

Ahhhh, good times....

There's trains every 15 mins from Edinburgh to Glasgow as was earlier said, shouldn't be more than £15 for a return.

Train info

My favourite venue. Not been there for a while so can anyone tell me if it's one of the 10 o clock curfew places? As much as i like the Carling Academy last year was cutting it very fine for the last train to Ayr.

Gig won't have a 10pm curfew. Cathouse and Garage have curfew's as they have club nights from 11pm onwards..

Piss easy, I did it a while ago last time Gogol Bordello played in Glasgae, i think it cost about fifteen quid on the train.

Cool I'm there. Not been to Barrowlands, love Glasgow tho, can't wait!

Didn't the Wildhearts do Newcastle in December & April last year?

certainly did.

Yes they did! So what's wrong with this year?! Working in retail and December road trips don't really go hand in hand!

*Edit* So a bit of a skive may be necessary!

to be fair hard rock hell is in wales so they're probably not allowed to do another welsh date because of that

Even if it is the complete other side of Wales?? I'm closer to the Hard Rock Hell gig than you welsh southerners but i'm probably gonna opt for the Manchester date just cos it's gonna guarantee a WH fan setlist rather than a generic 'suit everyone' setlist, not that i don't like suckerpunch and caffeine bomb but still......nice to hear some varience.

Its just dawned on me that seeing them in December will infact be the 38th time I've seen them, christ that must have cost me a small fortune, ahh well mind you if i had all the money i'd spent on wildhearts gigs and merch..............I'd spend it all on wildhearts gigs and merch.

I loooove The Barrowlands. Probably my fave venue - so far. And I can park my car around the corner from the venue - or walk to the train station.

Yeah thats what i thought.I've only ever had any problems at the Barras time wise once(Wildhearts on Phuq tour..we had to sprint back to station halfway through Getting It)

However i believe there is a quarter past 12 pished train goes back to Ayr some nights so i'll investigate further.Thats what we had to get back from Carling Academy.
