Your cheer up record

Postby psychodoyle2002 » 10th Apr 06, 04:15

Everyone has them, when you're down, and don't want to listen to music that makes you sad you put a CD on that makes it all better... what are all yours and why?

My 3 are currently...

The Wildhearts Strike Back... this also serves as my energy expending record if I get stressed or over-excited haha.
John Mayer- Room for Squares... this album changed my life, lots of great lyrics, and some really great music.
Panic! at the Disco- A fever you can't sweat out... this album makes me want to dance, I DON'T dance (I can't dance, I have no rhythm in my feet) but this album makes me want to.
Isn't it ironic that not many people know the meaning of the word esoteric?

Silver Sun, every time.

I don't understand the idea of listening to down music when you're down. Good call, Sir.

Mine are currently Black Leather Mojo, Semi Detatched by Therapy and Days Go By by Keith Urban. Any record be it rock, country, industrial or whatever will cheer me up if I like it.

Uncanny psychodoyle2002....John Mayer's "Room For Squares" is the only album that cheers me up. It's totally relaxing and it doesn't matter how feckin' depressed I am, it never fails to put a smile back on my face. I could pick other albums in answer to this question, but there's no point, cos Room For Squares will always be my first choice.

quite a few actually!

1) Endless, Nameless. weird choice, but it makes me happy. Lots of great great songs to sing along to.
2) Disappear Here / Neo Wave / Silver Sun by Silver Sun. they're just boingy.
3) Fruit Karma by SugarPlumFairies. chilled, a bit mad in places, but just happy.
4) Ocean Machine - Dev Townsend.
5) Drunken Lord / Yeah, Yeah Yeah / Bulb from Valor del Corazon. Bulb is currently the best most infectiously happy song in the world. ever.

there are more, i'm just way too tired!!!

rock, though! :)

Absolutely there's so much wit in the lyrics, and some really clever stuff going on musically. I'm enjoying John's "I want to be the white Jimi Hendrix" direction he's going in lately, but for me this record shows what he's actually good at.

I'm currently dancing the Dozy Doe with the endorphin elves to the sunshiney strains of 'Don't Falter' by Mint Royale with Lauren Laverne.

Choon!

Which prompts another world-shaking debate: Lauren Laverne - hot or not?

I think she's a girl-shaped magma-bot.
