Ok, who is going to the Tokyo gig?

I am in Japan during November for my partners sisters wedding. Their is a chance that I will be able to make it to the Tokyo gig, but it may be a tight :(

If anybody on the boards here is going to be there, let me know and maybe we can meet up. Even better if you are from the area so I can practice my japanese ;)

I'm in Bangkok, and considering the short hop from Thailand to Japan to catch this show....

I'd hoped to find some locals who could give me a bit of logistical info like where the best place to grab a hotel is and how to travel around and make sure that I don't [get too drunk and] miss the show - so any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.

May try and make it myself. If you're ever in Singapore, give me a shout. I'll do likewise when I come up to BKK.

There are Wildhearts fans in BKK? Cool!
I'd love to know where you think is good for a night out for next time I'm over there. We go over to visit family every other year or so.

This is going to sound weird but I had a dream we found a really good pub there filled with Wildhearts fans and it had a great jukebox. Alas, it was only a dream.

Is it a long flight from Bangkok to Japan? We're thinking of doing that in future too. Won't be in time for this gig but maybe another year.

Thanks for the offer - I haven't been to SG for more than 5 years... but must make it over sometime in the near future... likewise - feel free to give me a shout when you're in town....

It depends on what kind of place you like going to... but there aren't really many strictly "rock oriented" bars around anymore. You can guarantee hearing stuff like Hotel California (Eagles), and Zombie (Cranberries) pretty much anywhere you go....

I may be the only WH fan in Bkk serious enough to consider the trip to Japan for the concert... so unfortunately, finding a pub filled with WH fans with a great jukebox might be stretching things a bit..... although I have donated some of my collection to some of my favourite drinking establishments since it's the only surefire way to get to listen to music that I like ;)

I'm not sure how long the flight will be... maybe 4 hours +/- 1 hour?

Thanks for the replies,
Paul

Ah well, I have lots of crazy dreams, nevermind.

It'd be good to know which bars *aren't* going to play the Cranberries, that's a reason for staying in!

5 hours isn't too bad, I thought it would be longer cos it looks pretty far on the map. I have to get to Japan one of these days and I think we will probably end up tying it in with a trip to BKK. If we can tie it in with a WH date then that'd be a triple win :D
