By god you have a freakishly similar taste in music to me
Interviewer - "So whats the secret of your longevity?"
Ginger - "Splitting up!"

"Bernard, its hot in the worm."

"School aint shit, I read it in a book"

I've got a bootleg DVD of a show from 2004 at (I think) the Astoria in London. Before the band play OCD, Ginger talks about the Coupled With.. record saying that the crowd should "buy it, keep the receipt, take it home, tape it or burn it off, take it back to the shop and swap it for the new Therapy? record" because the band were the only fuckers not to make any money out of the album at all.

Thought I'd mention it, seeing as "...Must Be Destroyed" and (I think) "...Strike Back" came out through them...

Serves them right if it's true. They certainly didn't do the WH any favours!

eh? what happened between WH and Gut?

According to one of the features on the WH site, they pulled out of giving the WH any financial support on the Darkness European tour (approx 1 week before they were set to start the tour). Also, I seem to remember Ginger saying that the band didn't get paid for sales of "Coupled With" (it may have even been released without their permission - I'm not sure)

Yes, the decision to pull financing for the tour, while not being quite the worst idea in entertainment since Abraham Lincoln said: "I'm sick of kicking around the house all day, let's go take in a show.", as good business was certainly questionable.

As for Coupled With though, Gut got the rights to all those songs as part of the TWMBD publishing deal. It's naïve to think that they wouldn't try to recoup some of the money they'd spent by actually releasing them! It almost borders on *gasp* good business sense.

No matter what Ginger said, he was fine with it at one point because at the very least his arm showed up for the cover shoot.

They are, however, not at all forgiven for Ready, Teddy, Death. Not least because of how shite what they were peddling actually was!
