So, the Beeb are making their entire archive of music available to buy online. That means all radio live performances, sessions, TOTP performances, etc.

Obviously this also means a wealth of Wildhearts-related stuff will soon become available at a decent quality, so my question is this: what are people gonna be most excited about getting their hands on?

I guess it depends on what becomes available, if I am perfectly honest I don't need more live performances as the band tended to stick to a fairly similar setlist through the years so unless there are some rare live tracks I won't bother with them.

I don't really know what else they did on the radio (?), and the TOTP performances I think I have somewhere.

it's cool this stuff is becoming available now though, there may be some gems.

For me it'll be the TOTP performances which only seem to be available in crappy grainy quality on youtube or on those taped from TV bootlegs doing the rounds.

Hopefully there'll be other live stuff too, which wasn't on anarchic airwaves.

Plus you never know what the Big British Castle will have lurking in it's vaults!

The Top of the Pops performance I saw... on Youtube or something like that... was pretty obviously lipsynched. That makes it not only useless to me... but something I don't even want to admit exists.

From what I can remember/checked on youtube -

Mimed - i wanna Go where the people Go, twice I believe, introduced by Whigfield and also Chris Evans. Evans actually did quite a good intro for them saying the band went off to New York and returned to the Uk for one night only- The Wildhearts! One of the performances had the TOTP producer on guitar cos he was a big fan of the band (if memory serves correctly).

Live - Caffeine Bomb (including "shitting brown water" line), Stormy, Sick Of Drugs (ending halfway through with Ginger singing "If you wanna hear the rest of the song, go and buy the single..", Anthem and Geordie.

That's right yeah, I didn't know who he was when I saw it on tv. Keds is also on guitar for one of the "I wanna Go.." appearances. i quite liked Keds' voice on the b-sides he appeared on, I thought it contrasted with Ginger's pretty well, especially on S.I.N.

there was another show from the PHUQ tour ( jef's first ) , about 5 tracks were aired , plus an interview where you could hear cecil in the background ( altho that might have been sound city ) .. prob from the old rock show . tv tan , caprice , woah shit and a few others IIRC .

donington 94 set was prob broadcast on the day or on the rock show ... if its the whole bbc archive then thats ging to include some previous MONSTERS OF ROCK sets so that is indeed awexome news . Cardiacs sessions i'll make a beeline for too .

there was more of leed soundcity originally broadcast than featured on anarchic airwaves i believe - most the main set tho i think thats only around an hour , headfuck was the offair encore IIRC
