More like less than 7 minutes.
Needless to say, I failed miserably to get any tickets for Manchester and I was on it from the second they went on sale.
Makes me puke that people bought tickets with no intention of going to the gig and just to sell them on for an outrageous price. Guess that's capitalism for ya.
At least I'm going to see Goldblade tonight...

Couldn't tell you the last time i even bothered attempting one of these ticket scrambles.

Presales,Agencies and Touts always manage to get in there first and your average punter has little chance.

well done to ya, glad someone who wants to go managed to get some.
Hope you enjoy it, I'm going to bide my time waiting for either more dates or prices to drop on e-bay... or pigs to fly, whatever happens first.

All hope is not lost, the tour is gonna be 18 months long and on Zane Lowes' show last night, outdoor shows were hinted at by Brian and Angus.

I'm hoping that AC/DC and Metallica are both at Download next year. How can they not be?!

Exactly!!!

Gonna get on my high horse about this (again) I have no problem with concerts selling really fast, as long as it's the genuine fans that get the tickets...but nowadays, it seems to be that gigs sell out because of the bloody touts buying up the tickets and then sticking them on ebay to make a fast buck. I know this has been going on forever, but the problem seems to be getting worse I reckon, and it really fuckin annoys me - especially when I miss out on getting tickets because of it  You've only gotta search around ebay and there's hundreds of AC/DC tickets available there at highly inflated prices. I expect the same will happen next week after the Metallica tour has sold out (and I'll have no doubt been unable to get tickets for that too)

End of rant.......Gonna go and lock myself in the 'calm room' now to cool off lol

I think it's going to be name on ticket and id time soon which in turn will cause longer queues and people missing acts, do people not consider everyone else when pulling shit like extortionate prices? obviously not, christ I long for the days of common courtesy.

For bigger football games this already happens. In fact at the recent Scotland game in Macedonia away fans had to produce the passport to go with the ticket or they didn't even get near the ground.I

However if they do it for concerts they'll simply have to put more folk on at the entrances and adjust the gate times accordingly. In fact at bigger venues i don't see why they can't install a turnstile system instead of having 1 massive queue.

that was done for the led zep gig and the metallica gig. led zep was done by list and punters were issued wristbands for entry. 2 full days were spent issuing wristbands though and people queued for hours! metallica was good, it was "paperless ticketing" (which is a misnomer) where no-one got sent tickets in advance but turned up with the credit card it was booked in, presented it at the gate and was printed out the seat numbers to go straight in. these are good systems as they do beat the touts but they are damned expensive for the promoters and, quite frankly, they are simply a sticky plaster for the real problem, which needs to be addressed by government legislation, and not swept under the carpet with some bollocks voluntary code of conduct.

i too could rant for days on this topic!
